Hopefully it means we are moving on and looking for a better receiver
Agreed. Upgrade the receiver room. Bourne couldn’t seem to figure out the playbook this year and he was supposed to be the leader of the group.

I don't agree he was just a JAG. But it's clear it was never going to become consistent play out of him that we would see in spurts. Good option as a 3/4 receiver. But can't invest much into him with his consistency/injuries.

I'm sure his tweet is not football related.
However, cutting him post Hune 1 would give 6.3 million in cap savings and only 1.4 in dead money. If they signed Higgins and Slayton, for example, would make sense with Boutte there to dump Bourne for salary cap savings. Otherwise, he's a god veteran presence and Vrabel leans on veterans to lead so he's probably here.
IMO, June 1st is irrelevant. The total cap cost is exactly the same; nothing is saved. All that is affected is the split between the 2025 cap and the 2026 cap.

I believe the amount of new money owed to Bourne for 2025 is zero. There is $2.8M of dead money from his bonus and that be spread out over 2 years or not.
==========
I suspect that he will be traded as part of a trade for a WR. If not, he might stay until after the draft and then be traded.
====
Bourne is an OK #3 or #4 WR, so some team should be willing to give us something.
=======
Bourne isn't part of the future. We have Boutte, Douglas, Baker and Polk.
We will also likely have two additions: one free agent and one acquired through a trade. We might even have a late round draft choice.

Bourne is an easy cut but he would probably be able to be traded which is even better. Get a pick for him and give his job to Boutte. You still have Pop and Polk as probable contributors, and you’ll sign and/or draft at least 2 more guys that you’ll expect to be starters.

Bourne is actually an overkill now. Sign Higgins or Adams and go with Pop and Boutte as wr 2/wr3 and sign a mid tier free agents for wr4 to compete with Baker and Polk. One of those 3 will get cut at end of training camp .or if you feel Bourne is the vet and loses out to Polk or Baker in TX, trade him .

Tbh we just need one impactful free agent wr signing. Need to figure out what we have in Polk and baker.

You get the same results. Let's be better.
There are a lot of spots on this team for average starters that we can win with but WR shouldn’t be one of them this time.

We need to treat the off season as if Polk and baker don’t exist and fill the spot out without them. If they suddenly get and earn something fine, but the plan needs to be to expect they are zeros.

So, we had one of the worst WR groups and we will have a playoff set with signing one impactful signing? NOT

Agree after 06 we signed Stallworth and still traded for Moss and Welker. We need that kind of overkill again.

I am just saying use this season to further develop 2-3 players out of 4 Douglas, Boutte and one among Polk/baker . If Polk or Baker do nothing by TC, cut them and get some low cost veterans as wr4 and wr5 .

Tee Higgins/ Godwin , Douglas, Boutte + wr4/wr5 with Henry, hooper and Gibson should be decent enough.

Pop Douglas and Boutte are developed and will get better with the right guys. We need a better Position Coach and OC: whatever we get from Polk and Baker is gravy. That said I hope we don't pass on decent talent for either.

That's what I'm saying: one barely made a 100yds healthy all season long: the other recorded 1 catch against scrubs.

He didn’t gain 100

There is no way we can expend draft resources on a weak wide receiver class. And this year is not a super bowl season. So better to see whether these wide receivers stick or not.

It's weak compared to last year's: but I think guys like Matthew Golden and Tre Harris are decent Players. Our Front Office is already better with Vrabel and his Guys.

Bourne and a 3rd for AJ Brown, would Eagles make that trade since AJ Brown has bad blood with Hurts?

Abdul Carter plus Jack Sawyer later would be an incredible upgrade to the defense.

WR also can be addressed in draft or FA.

Issue that glares is neither FA or Draft has a surefire LT available.

My have to fortify the rest of the line, and just know you have to help a Vedarian Lowe type player with chips by TE/RB next year

I think Eagles could get a late 1 for Brown unfortunately.

Metcalf might be more attainable

This. They are firmly in the “spare/bonus part” territory
