The reason I wouldn't mind Josh as OC only IF AVP sticks as QB coach... is because if Josh falls back into old ways and fails to converge his ideas with existing base, they can move him to "offensive consultant" and re-insert AVP as play caller.
I think they MUST protect Maye's development & some continuity at ALL COST.

I’ve been driving the AJ Brown hates Hurts bus and let’s go get DK cause why not since the beginning of the season.

Why not get both? We have the cap:

What's they story on DK??

Still not sure if Wolf whiffed on Polk. Did he whiff or did the coaching staff do a crap job developing him or both? We will see next year if Polk rebounds.

Sure, in hindsight, passing on McConkey was a huge mistake. But at the time, many people thought Polk was the steal of the draft. And I tend to think McConkey wouldn't have been half the player he was this year if he was in a Patriots' uniform.
I don’t recall that being a thing.

We absolutely could get both.. I've been saying trade the 3rd for judon for DK..

Your right. I did hear of Vrabel being compared to Parcells. When Bill took over with grier still I. Place. He brung in pioli.. it just feels reminiscent thst Vrabel came back and brung his guy in with him too.
I see the parallel. Maybe the better way frame it is that whoever stays should be retained based on their ability. Using the term collaboration is a red herring.

Dugger was a 4 year extension and peppers was 3 years.
What I think @Real fan 02 was trying to say was that Dugger can be let go after the 2025 season when the dead cap is manageable. All of their signings have outs in 2026.

That's pretty much the only thing the Pats did well in the offseason by structuring the contracts with quick outs.

There's always a few outlier takes after draft night.

It's not hard to find them.

They were posted.

But then again, go back and look at the N'Keal Harry draft night thread. A lot of positive assessments from the scouts. 97% of the responses from Patriot fans on this site were enthusiastic.

There were 2 posters who each posted 3 or 4 times about their very negative assessments of Harry. Those 2 posters were absolutely spot on and knew more than the professional scouts.

The point of hiring McDaniels, who has failed as an HC multiple times, won’t leave.

Why wouldn’t he take a college job? No one on earth thought Belichick would, and he’s at UNC now.

Haven't heard anything on DK.. but found something on DJ Moore...https://www.si.com/nfl/patriots/news/new-england-patriots-predicted-swing-shocking-dj-moore-tradehttps://www.si.com/nfl/patriots/news/new-england-patriots-predicted-swing-shocking-dj-moore-trade

I see, that is good to know. Yes, that lines pretty well for us if we can get out of these contracts for the 26 offseason if need be

You know what I mean. Stop it.
I don’t though. Someone else isn’t going to run van pelts system. Just because they have the same 50 year old stating point doesn’t mean every west coast coach runs the same thing.
EP looks nothing like what Earhart and Perkins ran any more. McDaniels system has evolved taking in concepts of wco, spread, etc to become what it has become. It looks nothing like EP that it evolved from.

The system is passed on. Hence coaching trees. Andy Reid, Mike Shanahan, Sean Mcvay.
McVay is from the Shanahan tree. He doesn’t run the same system as Kyle Shanahan
All 3 are from the Walsh tree who create the WCO 50 years ago. Coaches running the WCO don’t all run the same scheme.

The Raiders had ****ty QB's.

Josh won 11 games with Matt Cassell and won games with Jimmy G, Brissett, and Hoyer back in the day. I think it has a lot to do with the system along with the QB. I don't know if it is as affective now.
