I’m wondering, if a team interviews one minority candidate and then hires them so does not interview a second minority candidate are they sanctioned for violating the Rooney Rule?
Good question. I don't know. I'd have to check, but I think that you still have to interview 2 minority candidates.

I like it. Damn good OC.
Not optimal. While Josh is a very good EP OC, Drake knows West Coast.

That'll set him back a bit.

Not sure we want to F with his development.

My guess is no
Flo wants a HC position
Vikings gave him a job while he was toxic a few years ago
It’s really a lateral position with asst HC to manipulate the rule
Unless he does not like it in Minny or really wants to coach with Vrabes
Just my take
Makes sense.

The word is he's a very smart kid that picks up things quick.

And you are completely full of ****. Anyone who thinks they can evaluate a draft class after 1/2,- season is a know nothing blowhard. Especially when they are unable to evaluate just how bad so many of Bill Belichick’s draft picks turned out despite’s years and years of hindsight.
I have no idea what was said prior between you two but I’ll say this…

When you were objectively and statistically the worst WR in the league, couldn’t catch a cold, had no idea where to be in a SIMPLE route tree, AND had the balls to say “I have the best hands in the league”, chances of future success are slim to be charitable.

Polk was a bust of busts pick.

It was that bad.

Little early on the rest, but I can’t recall a rookie WR overcoming that king of year anywhere and becoming good.

Too big of a personality
He wants the camera on him at all times
Just today on NFL Network they asked him about Vrabel to NE. He says Good I want to kick his butt twice a year
Just can’t answer the guestion it is Always about him
Meh he was still angling for a job. Pandering to the crowd.

Unlikely to be him as DC, but I’d be fine with it.

I like the idea of bringing McD back. No wat he’s getting another coaching opportunity anytime soon so that would give Drake some stability on the offensive philosophy for years to come.
The biggest problem with McDaniels offense is that it requires a lot from WRs.

In 20 years we only drafted one who was able to learn it and play it to its top potential, Julian Edelman.

So was the problem the drafting or the complex offense requiring reads by the QB and WR to be exactly on the same page?

Josh is the perfect guy for this job. In addition to all the reasons listed he is known for scheming guys open. Even if we significantly upgrade the WR room it’s unlikely to be a strength of this team next year.

That’s one pick, and he got most of his playing time with Brissett. Judging an entire draft on one player, and dismissing the fact that he got them their franchise QB with his first pick is pure bias, and that’s demonstrated by the fact that if you apply the same standard to any GM in football then their draft sucked, and 3/4 of the prospects, and all the GM’s are busts.

Branch got it, but overall you are right.

Report is put that Rex Ryan is out of the NYJ search.

Dude can coach the **** out of a defense…

Call me crazy, but if Ryan and Vrabes could co-exist, and Ryan’s defense beat the **** out of the Jets for the next few years I would take unhealthy joy in it.
I’d love this.

You don't think Josh can adapt? He adapted to Cam. Josh adjusted for Mac. You might be over stating the differences between EP and WC. It is not calculus.

I love Maye, but he is reckless at times. Too many bad passes, too many dangerous runs. Maye is young and needs "in-game" discipline. I think Josh can do that like he did with Mac. Josh can slow down the game for Maye. For Drake over the next 2 years, I think the QB in-game management is more important than the offensive scheme. Maye can identify the Mike, read the defense, and set the offense, he is a smart guy, he can handle that easily. Maye's downfall is his passion that leads to some crazy execution. Josh will be in Maye's ear continually to keep Maye's head in the game.

Josh is coming off failure in LV, is well rested, and has Vrabel taking the pressure off him. I think Josh will get a lot more out of Drake.

Wolf has been the worst personnel guy this team has ever had. Worse than Bobby Grier.
Had Wolf not spent the money he did on returning players, I’d cut him more slack. But what he did in free agency was a fireable offense. However, Kraft approved this.

Bobby just had a very time building on what they had. Robert Edwards not getting injured may have helped him keep his and Carroll’s job. The corpse of Terry Allen as the lead back in 1999 was brutal.
Polk sucks. I've been watching Wallace for 5 years now. He should never have been drafted. Anyone with a brain could tell Polk wasn't worth it.
Boston media shred hyped Polk up though.

I think it’s more of a Brady thing. Edelman had said Tom stressed to be on the same page with the route options based on coverage. Gronk mentioned on Edelman’s podcast that he messed up breaking off his routes early in his career. Whole Tom would get pissed, he still threw him the ball because of how good he was. He also had good things to say about Hernandez in that he learned the entire playbook in a week while learning multiple positions/responsibilities. Total shame.

I don’t think it will set him back at all. He will be getting better coaching. I wouldn’t say Alex Van Punt made Maye a WCO expert. And the concepts are not very different.

Here are the numbers:

Here are some other statistics about NFL draft success:
  • Only about 8% of draft picks make a significant difference beyond replacement value.

  • Only about 30% of draft picks see much playing time or make a significant contribution to the team.

  • Only 31% of first-round draft picks selected between 2010-2017 signed a second contract with the team that drafted them.

  • Players selected in the first three rounds comprise over 75% of the total Pro Bowl selections.

  • Undrafted players outperformed those drafted after the third round.
