Both are good options that promise to be better than Mayo. My hang up is that I have no idea what criteria the Kraft's are using to make this choice. Last time it was based on how he chose his wives. Funny that RKK chose the crazy hot one for last, LOL. The reality is that they don't have the ability to choose based on football knowledge. So how are they going to make the choice?
I want Kraft to take the hot wife to be our coach!
I love the enthusiasm, please pump the brakes a little. We have a potential top 5 QB, I don't want to have so much fun that I wake up three seasons from now wearing someone else's cloths and the team is no where near the playoffs. LOL.
I think Vrabel is called the "safer choice" by people cause we know he's not going to be completely overwhelmed by being a head coach since he's already done it, it doesn't mean he's going to be any more successful though.
I realize this is a unique take, but I don't care. I mean of course I care, but there are more important things for me. As a local fan we have experienced incredible championship success. At this stage with everything equal, I would prefer the chance with an exciting innovative team. I get that experience is huge, but I would give that up for what looks like an equivalent choice.
For me this situation is similar to the arguments concerning trading down for Maye. Yeah drafting Maye might have been riskier than trading down, but I felt if he didn't work out, we could reboot in two years, and try again. I wanted the hot QB, not a team like Vrabel's Titans.
With Maye and Ben we have the chance to be that place as well as a Super Bowl contender. I feel playing Vrabel ball we have an equal chance for success, but everyone will hate boring us again. This will be more fun, so I'm in.
Besides if you have a top 5 QB you eventually are a contender. I can't name one who doesn't become one. Ben Johnson might not be a great organizer and in game coach, but I'm confident he won't screw Maye up, and we can run this again. Like the Chargers now.
I'm ok with this risk/reward.
