Let's hope Wolf does the same during the Draft... you hear that Wolf??If due diligence includes reading PatsFans then you are right.

This line of thinking is kinda silly. By this logic, literally any offensive assistant you hire could be the next Josh McDaniels. That would be a bad move. Johnson might be the Josh McDaniels of this decade.
He's in a great situation. Certainly an offensive wiz. But, who knows if he can manage the political side and run an entire team?
Pats should NOT be looking to give another young coordinator his first crack to find out.
Ben Johnson seem like a guy that will pick his destination as HC very carefully. That is my hope.
I'm really willing to give Wolf a shot with a competent HC who can provide him with guidance on what players need to be drafted based on the offensive and defensive system/scheme.
I really think Mayo was so ****ing clueless he didn't do Wolf any favors.
Wolf will be gone or a GM will be hired as his boss. Wolf will not be picking FAs or draft picks. The Krafts are moving fast, Mayo is gone and the Ben Johnson interview request is sent. The Krafts are working with urgency so they can get the new coach and new GM in place before FA starts.Let's hope Wolf does the same during the Draft... you hear that Wolf??
I'm leaning Vrabel because the Pats are set up for one know-it-all ******* to be in charge. But if Johnson can be that *******, I'm for it.Who's your guy??
And the Jags kept Balke. So they are basically a total deterrent for any coaches. Pats, Jets and Bears are the teams Johnson will be looking at. Pats and Bears honestly should be the most attractive of those two.Correct me if I’m wrong, but there are only 4 head coaching vacancies, right? Pats, Jets, Bears, and Jags. Am I missing anyone? The Giants are keeping Daboll.
That’s also really good news, this is a remarkably low number of job openings, so more chances to get the candidate you want. In the recent past, I believe there have been 6-7 openings annually.
Maybe he can lure Hank Fraley along with him. Part of the equation for that elite OL is coaching.I like Ben Johnson but I don’t think it’s a given hes an offensive genius. The Lions have the #1 OL in the NFL. Running the ball with that unit and calling play action off of it isn’t exactly rocket science.
Then who is conducting the interviews?Either Vrabel or Johnson will come with their guy.
I don't expect them to hire him but I am glad they are talking to him. I would be happy with him. He is like my "1B" choice.
The ladies at Orchids of Asia Day Spa.Then who is conducting the interviews?
I am sure JAG Tackles Lowe and Jacobs wouldn't be Starting on his Offense... so there.I like Ben Johnson but I don’t think it’s a given hes an offensive genius. The Lions have arguably the best OL in the NFL. Running the ball with that unit and calling play action off of it isn’t exactly rocket science.
I think this is what is gonna happen.Vrabel will be the hire but they are doing their due diligence
The Pats really need to break that model. Doesn't work in the modern NFL and the only guy that could make it work for a bit is gone.I'm leaning Vrabel because the Pats are set up for one know-it-all ******* to be in charge. But if Johnson can be that *******, I'm for it.
His imagination at OC is impressive.I don't expect them to hire him but I am glad they are talking to him. I would be happy with him. He is like my "1B" choice.
Nobody wants to go to the Jags because of Balke. He's a deterrent to HC's. It's been a big story all day.I think this is what is gonna happen.
Ben Johnson is going to go to jaguars
Vrabel has communicated internally I presume, that he would put the patriots job as 1st priority unless Krafts don't take any action.
- Easy division
- Players already in place
- Trevor Lawrence - top 15 QB, equal or better than Goff
- Great ownership
So now to satisfy Rooney rule, interview Flores, Saleh or Brian flores.might be better to interview Saleh and other fired coaches to get kickstart on the timing.
I hope Vrabel has a proper plan towards building coaching tree on both sides and also holistically looks at existing coaches who can be retained. Sometimes you don't need to uproot the entire tree.
Springer needs to be retained while AVP and McCartney would be nice to have to maintain continuity while covington might need to be let go .
