Gotta go with Vrabel as the HC, he has coaching experience and know the landscape here, watching him play gives him an A+..
What will be interesting will be his staff.. he has been around the league coaching and advising for a while now so he knows a lot of folks who would want to work for him, don't expect some rookie or some last choice kind of guy.

Vrabel, I doubt he would get lost finding his way to the stadium. Need to get back to some accountability and hard nosed football. I think he knows how much his success is going to rely on a good offensive coordinator hiring.

I also like Ben Johnson, but tbh, his weapons that’s he’s working with are off the charts right now. What does he do with these turds?Do like the Maye pairing though.

The team needs a hard ass. Not a player friendly guy.

A strike also against Vrabel. Former players, after Mayo….?

GM Ray Agnew
HC Brian Flores, Mr Hardbutt Himself.

That should be a big improvement.

Years ago when i was contemplating who would or should replace BB, my first choice was Vrable

I would pick Vrabel if a gun was to my head but I am definitely very interested in BJ if he is interested in the Pats.

After them, I would probably say guys like Joe Brady and maybe Marcus Freeman from ND.
me too.

Ben Johnson with Daboll as his OC.

Daboll LOVES Drake Maye. Flores as the DC. Lock each down for at least 4 years. Make it clear we are here to win titles and get Maye to that level quickly.

Maybe a GM from the Philly or San Fran tree?

do daboll and johnson jive offensively ?

Vrabel but please make sure he's actually the best candidate, hold legitimate interviews with other candidates.

No sham interviews and only Patriots ties hirings before we go thru the process, the Steelers were expected to hire Ken Whisenhunt before they went thru a genuine process and Tomlin blew them away i'd be happy with Vrabel but i want them to give other candidates real interviews.

This is how to do it. The Buccaneers a year ago interviewed a slew of candidates for OC. Eventually went to newbie Liam Coen, who’s done a wonderful job.

Look for their passing game coordinator John Van Dam, another young guy, to continue receiving interviews for an OC position. He would be perfect for New England depending on the HC.

We could have a separate thread for hoped-for coaches below head and coordinator level.

I have been a broken record urging the return of COLE POPOVICH as the OL coach. Please make it happen.

Another terrific and up and comer is this guy currently with the Cardinals. I can’t recommend William Peagler enough.

And the guy with the funny name with the Buccaneers is going to be an OC some day. John Van Dam has gone from tight ends coach ( with Gronk) to assistant passing game coordinator where Baker Mayfield has had a resurgence. He would also make an excellent QB coach, where he backed up Brian Hoyer at Michigan State.

I’ll say this. I don’t know if Vrabel is going to create the next dynasty, I don’t know if he can get us to a SB. But I am very confident at the least he can get us to respectability, and create a culture where we aren’t an embarrassment.
If he’s not the cus h to lead us back, he is at least the coach to lead us to a place where the next guy can.
Thats a big improvement from where we are
