I don't want Vrabel for the same reason I didn't want Mayo last year. He was the easy obvious choice they were going to make with zero due diligence. If they interview everyone available and it ends up being Mayo, fine. But if they already decided on him, I'm not hopeful.

Mayo was historically unqualified. Vrabel outcoached BB at game management & made it to the AFC Championship with an QB that can’t hold Drake Maye’s jock. Add Mc Daniels as an OC and you are looking at the best coaching staff in the NFL.

Tannehill was playing at a far higher level than Maye was playing this year. This is one of those things that only people who didn't actually watch those Titans teams would say who only are going by reputation when he played on a ****ty Dolphins team they saw twice a year.

If Maye ended up having a career playing the way Tanny did in the years the Titans were making the playoffs, you'd be creaming yourself.

Fully agree, first time HCs are spotty at best. For every McVay there are tons of failed HCs

Love Vrabel but this should be an open search. It shouldn’t be a one candidate search again

I think to satisfy the NFL policy on hiring coaches there will be a process. However I believe it's Vrabel. 100 plus million in cap room, a great young QB, a top 5 draft pick.. yeah this is a very attractive job for a HC. Bedard said they will will start interviews ASAP.

I've learned my lesson give me Vrabel I admit I was a Mayo guy. I was wrong on him.

1st time HC’s are not the problem. The lack of experience is. Mayo didn’t have much coaching experience and never ran a defense which was why he was a terrible hire.

Every good HC got their start from someone giving them a chance. They didn’t just teleport into being a successful HC.

WTF are you talking about? You listed a bunch of guys that are guaranteed failures. McDaniels was a total ****show both times he coached and couldn't last more than a year and a half despite being the belle of the ball when he was fired. Spags never had a winning record as a HC. Norv Turner routinely couldn't get his team ready to start the year and would have a bunch of early losses costing his team. All those guys would be "experienced" HC's and would be a disaster.

You can't live in the past and expect people to magically evolve when thy come to you.

Bill Belichick was the exception where he was building something and it got derailed due to a team move.
