Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Here is what Jerod Mayo can do that would resolve the Pats’ problem, and Jerod and Bob would both come out of this smelling like roses.

If we are REALLY lucky, Jerod will read this and take it to heart.

It AIN’T happening though.

“Hi Bob, now that the season is over, could I have five minutes of your time?

I really appreciate the opportunity that you have given me, and I see that it is causing a lot of problems for you.

Here’s the deal. I am in over my head, and I can see that now that I’ve spent a season on the job.

We are both in a tough position. You want to save face and I want to be a successful head coach in the NFL.

Your fans are ready to mutiny and there is no reason to expect things to be better next year.

I was not ready for this job. I haven’t paid my dues like other head coaches have done and I feel like getting the job the way I did, with Bill leaving earlier than expected, was not a great development for either of us.

Here is what I am going to do.

I am resigning as head coach of the New England Patriots. I am going to find coaching jobs that will prepare me to be a head coach in the future. I will work my way up and be ready for the next opportunity when it arises.

You do not owe me any money. You are now free to hire a better head coach and make the other changes that need to be done to return this franchise to it’s previous glory.

Drake is a great young QB and maybe even a better man.

Now that you have him, the top pick in the draft, and tons of cap space, this team is in a great position to become a powerhouse.

Thank you for all that you have done for me, and maybe in the future I can once again become the head coach of the New England Patriots, once I am ready and have paid my dues.”

Unfortunately, Optum didn't teach him that kind of humility or grasp of self knowledge.

Listened to 98.5 this afternoon. Felger is convinced that Mayo is gone, no sources just a feeling. I’m starting to get that feeling too and I’m one that didn’t think come hell or high water that it would actually happen. Anyone starting to get the feeling he may be gone?

The fact that Kraft has said nothing to support him this week so far is a very good sign

what if we shut out the bills on Sunday?

I hope a lot. More dissent voices the better.
Step 1 - a player goes after the fans
Step 2 - reports start to say Mayo likely gone
Step 3 - the fans boo relentlessly at the game
Step 4 - report surfaces that Vrabel is top choice in NJ and offer is on the table

The 4 step plan to curing what ails the Patriots

Hard disagree.

Only good move Wolf made was a no-brainer, drafting Maye at #3 overall.

He got shut out on useful FA signings. Ditto for OL contributors. He traded down from Ladd McConkey for Polk, then doubled down on WRs with Baker. WTF?

Half this board wanted Joe Alt, Marvin Harrison Jr., or a trade down, and there argument was that only 30% of 1st round QB’s. “ Take the haul” they all said. And if Maye turned out like Ryan Leaf or Zach Wilson Wolf would have been crucified, so he gets no credit, but all blame.

Mayo is why Bill Belichick never gave the media anything.

Everything this guy says is a problem. He's in a lose lose situation and he should just shut the **** up but at least we know our place and have a great losing culture.

They need to fire Mayo.

They need to a do a real coaching search this time around and not take the easy route. If that search ends up with Vrabel, so be it. However, they need a complete revamp and modernization of the entire football operations program.

So can we pencil in Ben Johnson or Mike Vrabel?
Question is who is Vrabels OC? If it’s Josh McDaniels is he content on being a OC and not chasing anymore HC jobs?

I think by this point, McD has to realize he isn't a HC type of guy. Still, I'd like some young, brilliant football mind to be the OC. They have the money, they can pay whatever anyone wants. They also need a hardass type of coach, this Carroll/Mayo type of attitude doesn't work here in NE.

Maybe AVP stays on for a year with Vrabel

I don't disagree with most of what you said, but I do have to wonder what happens behind closed doors and how much stock (if any) to put into what someone like Wise has said very recently. I didn't really see mass quitting last week. I did see mass suckage, especially after they lost their best player (Gonzo) while only losing 7-0 at the time.

He noted that Mayo’s leadership was one of the best he’s been around, which is saying a lot from a team captain and Super Bowl champion.

Dee Wise is a ****ing bum & a Fraud. **** him too.

Apparently Jahlani Tavai did an interview on WEEI this morning and he was asked about fans booing. Apparently he said he doesn’t like it and that “fans need to know their place.”

Another ****ing clueless, ****ing incompetent mother****er who's part of the ****ing Problem.

doGchow, Notso & Jalopy can all go eat **** and Get The **** Out.
