I will laugh my ass off if the jets hire vrabel, the patriots keep Mayo, and Vrabel beats Mayo twice a year until Mayo is fired.

What a disaster

I just want the Jete to continue to suck.

Jerod Mayo is the answer to "Why do fans want a new Patriots HC?" But the question is "Why do so many people want Vrabel, specifically, to be the new Patriots HC?"
Is this not completely obvious? He has 3 rings with us a player and as a coach he beat us in the playoffs.

Exactly. He sees where this train wreck is heading and he wants to distance himself
FWIW the last interview/quote I can find from Kraft is all the way back in mid-October (almost 3 months ago), from his appearance on The Breakfast Club, where he said this talking about Bill:

“I had given him so much power,” Kraft said. “He had full control over everything, and shame on me, I should have had some checks and balances better. But, he had earned that right. But then the results weren’t there and if you’re in the sports business you win or you lose, there’s no gray and I hate losing.”

That doesn't seem like it would bode well for Mayo, then.

It’s been rumored by NFL execs that Mayo somehow had a buyout clause of $10M had Bob decided to open up the HC search and go with someone else. This was why he chose Mayo as he was also already paying Bill and then pay a new HC.

Felger mentioned yesterday that a buyout still may have to happen in order to get rid of Mayo.

Bob created a real mess for himself.

And that's short sighted. Don't rush to make a second mistake because you already made one. Do what it takes to get it right. This is how desperate franchises stay bad.
We are well on our way or haven't you noticed??

Let’s start a go Fund me.

I got 100 towards it.

What a terrible contract, how he get conned into that?

I’ll come out and say it. If they retain largely the same staff for next year, I’m out on watching games and following the team until Mayo is gone.

It’s an unwatchable, unlikeable team.

I don’t think my sentiment is unique.

Krafts need to understand that the goodwill bank from most fans is overdrawn.

They've gotten enough of my money over the years. All set. The NFL prints cash. The Krafts can handle it.

Because he has a decent resume and is not the reason why Tennessee is in the Running for the Third Overall. In a nut shell Vrabel is not the reason for Tennessee's demise.

I don't think the buyout would be $10m anymore. His 2024 salary earnings counts against it.

I bet he has a 3 year deal @ ~$3m per. Buyout is $6m.

Christ I bet Bob has spent that in hand jobs.

That's peanuts for the Kraft better a year early than year too late. IF we make this available group of men pass us bye on Black Monday: this Team is going to be sad for years to come. Maye will not be able to overcome these Misfits. Look at Justin Herbert in San Diego could he overcome bad Coaching before Jim Harbaugh?? I didn't think so.

Get in line UGA...I said it first.

A Move the Krafts are going to live to Regret. Drake Maye can't overcome Mayo but the Krafts are going to realize that when it's too late. Last place in the Division again at least we'll be in the Top 5 again next year. We'll win something loser Teams win that's Draft Day with all the possibilities. Mayo can't carry any of the HC's jocks in our Division bravo Krafts.
And, if he makes it that far (health-wise), what makes ownership think that Maye will want to stay beyond his 5th Year Option? In fact, he might ask to be traded before then if things don't change for the better.

Hard pass on Vrabel here. Don’t think he fits. We can do better.
We can absolutely do better. I just seriously doubt ownership will do so. At least before the off-season.

Personally I don't care. The Patriots if the fire Mayo, need a full house cleaning and a real evaluation of the team and search. Flipping Mayo for Vrabel is not the golden carrot desperate fans think it is. There's bigger problems and they have to get it right or we are stuck for several years.

I agree with Breer on this. The Patriots are better off doing full scale search and going through a real process even if it costs them Vrabel over just half assing it and going for a quick fix and not changing the real problems.
It’s not just that Vrabel is interviewing it’s that interviews are already happening and if we drag our feet we will lose out on the best candidates

That's the scenario I fear that's why I'm against giving Mayo Two years. Mayo is the Jordan Richards of HC's we all knew he was going to be a Bust Immediately after the selection. Please Krafts do not try to save face the world knows MAYO sucks no upside as a HC whatsoever.

No, he shops at the Walmart of hookers.
