Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

You’re far more optimistic than me, I’m not seeing anything that tells me he’ll be competent, let alone good, in the near future.
fire covington and hire a real personnel guy with experience as gm who can restructure and let wolfie interview. then give mayo and avp one year to improve with a real personnel dept or get himself fired and let the new gm clean house.

ps...is that the movie where they're running around venice thinking they see their dead daughter?

Apparently Jahlani Tavai did an interview on WEEI this morning and he was asked about fans booing. Apparently he said he doesn’t like it and that “fans need to know their place.”

Jerod doesn’t get another day as our coach after 5PM if I’m Kraft.

So you're in waste-another-year camp... Count me out.

Hard disagree.

Only good move Wolf made was a no-brainer, drafting Maye at #3 overall.

He got shut out on useful FA signings. Ditto for OL contributors. He traded down from Ladd McConkey for Polk, then doubled down on WRs with Baker. WTF?
No one wanted to come to NE. Would have taken drastic overpays to make it happen. Would you have wanted to pay Ridley 30mil a year? Given Trent Smith a multi year guaranteed contract?

This isn't the Brady led Patriots where FAs are wanting to come here at slight discounts or will choose the Pats over another team at similar terms.

The cap situation is great for this upcoming FA. That doesn't mean Wolf is good, but at least he didn't tank the cap by overpaying vets that weren't worth it.

And he does get credit for Maye. There was a lot of chatter of possibly trading back and taking a JJ McCarthy instead. Wolf made the right decision in staying put and taking Maye, and by not destroying the cap on vets that wouldn't have moved the needle.

AVP should be fired. He is a good QB coach, a terrible OC.
He's their best coach, and I think he'd be fine with a new HC calling the plays. He's done a great job with Maye, and the only coach I would keep for continuity. I'd hate to have Maye learn a new offense in year two.

Maybe he stays on as QB coach with coach Ben Johnson or Mike Vrabel.

Black Monday can’t come soon enough what a joke.
Even if Mayo is fired, I don't think it will be on Monday. The Krafts are usually slow with this stuff. They'd probably wait until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Doubt. Given what he's done with Maye some other team that drafts a young QB will snap him up for OC. Remember Maye was considered raw and AVP had him playing like a pro (despite a terrible surrounding cast) in 6 weeks. And, if he does have to settle for QB coach, it won't be here amid this total dysfunction.

I think I just realized that it's because of his history with the Patriots as a player that makes me feel like I wanna give him more of the benefit of the doubt. If it were someone not affiliated with the Pats or even New England, then all the red flags would be more glaring to me. There should be a better term than love goggles - parent who ignores their kids' faults?
I definitely felt the same at the start of Mayo's tenure as a HC, but he eroded all of that good will before the bye. By now I kinda despise him. Maybe eventually I will remember him as just a player again.

I get it, even though I feel the extreme opposite. The red flags would be less glaring if it were a complete stranger that we know was chosen for merit from a vast pool of candidates.
