Pats should hire Steve Spagnuolo as next Head Coach

To be fair I was the one who brought Mills into the conversation because of those rumors so he was just responding to me.
On the QB situation I like Milton but I believe he's going to be developed to be used as trade asset down the line?

Your living in the world of your own make believe to fit your own bias. Bill would have passed on Allen lol how does that even come into this conversation do you magically know his opinion on Allen at the time. At least with Maye something was said on air. The hate just flows through you.
No actually that point fits perfectly into what I’ve been saying. Reading comprehension is your friend.

Jimmy, Stidham, Cassell were all raw

And he didn't take Mills because Mac was the better prospect same as Maye
The Mac experience cast a stain on BB's record for developing QB's. As you point out his teams actually produced a number of QB's who had some amount of success in the NFL, including Vinny Testaverde while he was in Cleveland. I think there was also another late round QB that had a few good years with the Pats before winning a SB with another team.

We will never know if hey would have drafted Maye or taken the opportunity to accumulate more draft picks. We do know that Maye posses all of the qualities that BB looks for in a QB. His comments on areas for improvement were for entertainment purposes only without the benefit of in person interviews where Maye clearly demonstrated that he had the processing capacity that Mac lacked.

I hope the Pats are more forward thinking than turning to Vrabel. He’s not the answer.
They have committed to mayo. As I've said all along even though it's been a rough season.. it would take something like off the field a situation for ownership to pull the plug after one season.

So he does not deserve another chance after 4 SB rings as DC and 6 years of great work in KC?
I would take him over Vrabel for sure
It’s not about deserving a chance.
It’s about being the best man for the job.
The chances that a 65 year old man who has an 11-41 record as a HC is the best man are virtually non-existent.

You are hiring a HC to lead a moribund directionless franchise with a young potential superstar at QB. Do you really think an aging defensive coach who failed miserably in his only HC shot is suddenly the man to lead the franchise into the future?

It’s not about being altruistic and finding a guy who “deserves another chance”

Just a question? I've been a fan of the team since a kid in the 80s.. but didn't really start to pay attention again until the late 90a early 2000s.. were there ever fire a coach chants from the fans prior to last week's game??

Watching drakes pre draft visit to the NYG.. really impres me.. showed the guy is very football savy, intell, confident and is a leader. I'm elated we have drake. In a sense we are lucky to have him. I think we can all sense there will be some form of change at the Coordinator spots. Personally I think Covington is out. Should they move on from AVP I'd like nick caley or dabol.

Mayo needs to go or the coordinators won’t really matter.

But why Caley? What has he done that is impressive? He seems like a position coach who is a reach as a coordinator. If you just want to rehash old patriots Chad O’Shea was above him in the pecking order and has coordinator experience. Not that I want him either.

And Dabol? For real? How many offenses does he have to finish at the bottom of the league with to prove he sucks?

Of course it fits you completely made it up yourself lol

Interesting question we'd have to check with some of the older guys.

My brother thinks Berry might have got some for benching Flutie. He certainly got a lot of heat.

He also thinks Rust and/or McPherson.

The real question is who on the current coaching staff can we credit with Drake's development.

I don't think it's Mayo.

AVP? I'm sure hes had some role.

TC McCartney? This is his 1st year as a QB coach.. meh.

Ben McAdoo? His career says QB coach. You can look at his time with AR in GB and say he helped "develop" him but other than that I don't see any years in which hes developed someone.

Let me ask you a question who would be your perfect person to replace Mayo. Can't say Bill because he's at UNC. So tell me who would make you happy as HC,OC and DC?

Good points. I think we have to go with TC McCartney.. yes AVP oversees everything on the offense but the QB coach has the day to day and the most time with a QB. So TC McCartney would be the guy with alot of credit.

On Mcadoo he's a mystery man. Doesn't speak to the media spotted during camp and hasn't been seen since.

Ah .. the rod rust patriots.. LOL.. well I can't remember Carroll or Parcells experiencing this to me recollection?

I just want Mayo and his crew gone! NOW!!!

You do realize when you post stuff like this you do nothing but increase your image as a Belichick hater.

She's cute and I'm proudly a Belichick cheerleader so I'm actually good with it.

Ya, let’s get a 65 year old man with a horrible HC record to rebuild the franchise. Makes perfect sense.

Maybe I’m mistaken and this has changed but I thought by rule teams could make coordinators who are under contract abide by its terms - but they normally don’t by convention so they can interview with other teams for promotions etc.

No way the Chiefs will happily let Spag go elsewhere without a fight or compensation.
The NFL basically said that any "stay put" clauses, like the one that Nick Caserio apparently had in his contract, are completely unenforceable. There are league-wide rules about timing of interviews (e.g., when phone calls/in-person visits are allowed), but teams can't place additional restrictions beyond those rules.

I think it's better to hire an offensive minded coach and pair him with a very good DC. This team needs the most help on the offensive side right now.
