I like to think that besides building an offensive line they need to get someone that can catch the ball thrown by our franchise QB, and aren't the best of those people usually available in the 1st round?

Would be a mistake. We could have got it with the 3 or the 2. The advantage to the 1 is we don't need a QB and several teams do. We can trade so someone can jump to get one and then we still get one of the 3 BPA's

Theoretically they could trade down only like 2 spots with the Giants and still get Hunter plus a haul.

That said, if a much better haul presents itself by trading with, say, the Raiders for the 8th pick, you do it. You will still be able to get a top tackle, WR, or pass rusher at 8 while the Shedeur Sanders QB + Deion Sanders HC combo in Vegas explodes in epic proportions.

Agreed. Between now and the draft the NFL talking heads will convince us that this is a stacked draft and someone, somewhere will overpay for a JAG.

You won’t get multiple first rounders, but they can definitely get a first and second next year, and a second this year, plus the first round pick swap. Either NY or Las Vegas will want their choice of QB.

I do wonder if the Krafts could "meddle" in this one and tell Mayo that he isn't allowed to play Maye this week because they're afraid of the concussion issue and want to keep him safe for next year. To influence the game towards a loss. "Don't worry Jerod, just sit Maye this week and we will set you up with a nice cushy executive job to shake hands with important people and make connections."

I can see them resting Maye because of his concussion scare this week... and then playing Polk and Baker as the starters to evaluate... so the combo of Brisket + Polk + Baker ****ing sucks it up all game...

Thats the only way to do it. Maye playing does nothing for the future.

This wasn't a tanking year. You wanted to see wins from Maye and the team, but it came to fruition sooner than I thought. I was on the tank wagon all year last year and was hoping for much, much better this year up until the very end. Now it's full tank time for one game. I can tolerate that better this year.

Last year I did not watch the last 2-3 games but hoped they lost
I wanted a QB
I have rooted to win up to this point
For this last game it would be stupid to want a win
I don’t put much stock in the draft of player 1 to player 10
So often player 10 ends up being better than some in the top 10
But when you can get multiple picks in lieu of a meaningless win
I will hold my nose and not watch and hope for the #1 pick

I think that’s understandable and fair if that’s a concern, makes sense to me.
