In an ideal situation he’d be perfectly good as the fourth guy on the depth chart. I’m not convinced he is anything more than that. He’s had some moments this year which is more than I anticipated as I wasn’t sure he’d even be on the roster.

Boutte seems to be a decent blocker, however.

He also seems to have a big mouth for a #4.

Congrats to Boutte. For a long time, it didn't look like he would make the team, or that he would be the #6 WR.

He now is our best youngster and should have a spot on the 2025 roster.

However, we need better than Boutte as our #2. As an aside, I suspect that he is more likely to make our 2025 53-man roster than any of our other WR's. I suspect that Polk is also a "lock" perhaps as our 6th WR. He'll get another year.

I could see Bourne being traded if we can upgrade. Douglas doesn't seem to fit well in AVP's Offense, as many predicted.

If we signed Higgins and drafted Hunter as a WR, we would be all set with Bourne healthy, Boutte, and Douglas.

Boutte had pretty serious injury situation to play his way back from. In addition, he was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic waiting for the pile-up of failed vets/rookie WRs and unskilled QB to be cleared away so he could get a chance to play his way back. Circumstances are developing for him to finally show if he still has the potential hinted at in his pre-injury college career. I like the trend.

He doesn’t produce enough. He has basically been the 1 for most of this year and makes about 3 catches a game. Before this game his top yards in a game was 59 and second was 47. He is largely a liability that disappears for most of the game most weeks.

Yes, we could draft Hunter and REQUIRE that he be a WR.

For me, I think that we should wait until after the combines and his pro day before making such decisions. However, trade down a couple of picks and choose McMillan and you get a similar result.

I think with WRs those guys have to have a certain mentality I remember Brady said that about his WRs one time.. it's a mentality they have to have even #4s like boutee

I agree - Higgins is the X, Hunter is the Z, Boutte is the backup X, Bourne is the backup Z, Douglas is the slot.

I would probably carry Baker as a development 6th/special teams guy. Dump Polk.

Keep an eye out for kirk in Jacksonville.. hear they may be trying to get from under his contract.. he would be a Steve Smith type talent on the outside to play along with Higgins.. all of our current WRs are backups anyway.

Yes! Kirk would be perfect on the outside.. guys tough, has sure hands.. also he can go across the middle and he can separate... there will be also of angles the team can take to get Drake some guys.. trading for DJ. Moore in Chicago is another option.. Higgins is the obvious one and we will likely have to over pay for him.. there alot of guys that have taken notice of Drake! Mac on his best day couldn't make that beautiful 3rd and 8 TD to Boutte.

Agreed. Is why we need at minimum 2 game changers on the outside at WR next season. To become a good efficient offense we need to threaten every part of the field.. Gibson is our do it all back.. I think he will have a bigger role next season like how Buffalo uses cook. That will be able to be possible because of the threats from Higgins and or Kirk/DJ Moore.
