I checked the Bills message board. Consensus seems to be Maye will be a huge issue going forward IF they surround him with a decent cast and coaching. They said he has the "IT" factor.
How many opposing teams message boards do you frequent?

Stevenson ran a shallow route because Rousseau defeated an attempted cut block and would have been in Stevenson's face before the ball arrived had he run the intended route. That mishap was mostly on our OL.

I disagree. He ran his route before he knew the block was beaten.
He lined up at the 4 and the pass hit him at the 3. His first movement was laterally backward. But yes that block was not NFL caliber.

Buffalo had score more than 30 points an NFL record EIGHT times in a row.

They are competing for the first round seed in the AFC.

The Defense of our 3-11 team gave up 17 points and our coach/QB/RB gave up another 7 on a very bad play.

Is your goal to be 3-12 but have a close game now and then?

With a more talented roster we win that game pretty comfortably imo.

Where has the urgency been all year? Fire them all.

predicted a dogfight and Pats kept Allen out there to the end to secure the win. I guarantee nobody was leaving that stadium.

People can call it how they see it, but I feel very confident that no-one would call a lateral inside their own 5. Maye has thrown backward passes on at least 3 screens that I can remember. I really think that Maye gets too quick on the trigger on screens.
His coaching needs to fix… er wait nevermind

Maye is proving to be the best pick in the draft. By the time we build an offensive power house around him and more than likely two different coaching staffs...

He will deserve a very big check... his shoulders will be turned to dust, carrying the weight of these seasons of ownership incompetence.
Jayden Daniels says not so fast…

For me, this Bills game for Mayo is the same as the Bills game for Mac last year. False hope!

It’s exactly why Mayo didn’t go for it on that 4th & 6. Optics. If we didn’t get it and the Bills scored and make it 31-14 then the narrative at the end of the game wouldn’t have been the same. Mayo coached to make himself look good instead of trying to actually win the game.

Daniels is 2 years older than. Compare Maye in Y3 to Daniels in Y1. No comparison. Maye is the guy.
Absolutely agree. We have 2 future all pros gonzo and Drake. We may have to surpass our 2001 FA signing of 23 players.

I’m for one glad they put up a fight. Turnovers suck. Maye has to get a handle on that. Bottom line is we are a 3-14 team. A great draft this offseason we will be a .500 team. Gotta start somewhere
Exactly. Looks like the Patriots may draft as high as #2. Trade the #2 pick to the Titans, Raiders, Giants or the Browns if they move on from Watson for their #1 and # 2 picks in 2025 and you can get five players in the top 85. You can fill a lot of holes in a hurry and still have $139M of cap space to get veterans.

Watching the college playoff games and keep an eye on offensive linemen, it looks like an incredible draft for linemen ready to play in the NFL - Oregon, Texas and Georgia all have great offensive lines. I'd draft two of those guys in in the first three rounds.

Agreed. I think as well as hitting on FAs we need to have a really good draft. I've mentioned that we need something similar to what happened in 2001 signing many FAs.

No doubt this group of players far exceeds the talent on the current team. I still stand by the point that the team is not as far off historical norms from the structure perspective as it appears. Considering the fact that all of the players listed did not play on the same teams, the current squad needs one or two difference makers like Gronk, Hernandez, Edelman, Welker, Brown, etc. to turn the offense into a position of strength. Gronk is the outlier, the rest of these players were not considered league best when they played. They were reliable and when combined with a great QB and effective gameplan they were plenty good enough to win. Henry, Hooper, Boutte and Douglas are good for the supporting role, they need at least one lead dog and an old school third down back to be effective.
I think your point is valid. I will say the bigger difference is the number of guys this team has that should be out of the league or backups but are starting/playing too many snaps. The LB group and half the offensive line for example. One thing those old Pats team had was depth, but they also did not have 4-5 "weak" players starting or playing a ton of snaps.

But you add Higgins and Hunter, 2 Offensive linemen, 2 linebackers and an edge rusher I think you are competitive. Assuming Bentley comes back I think much of that is doable (if Higgins stays you have a couple lesser options out there would be OK) between draft and free agency. But you need to pick the right veterans in free agency and at least draft 2 guys that can play outside the first-round pick.
If you draft a Polk like prospect in round 2 and sign a Chuks level lineman again then they are screwed for another year.
