Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Vrabel never coached for Patriots. He woukd bring toughness, experience and proven NFL leadership.

It ain’t gonna happen thought..I understand.
Kraft is not going to admit he made a colossal mistake after only one year.
This franchise is stuck with Mayo
Yep, AVP and Covington are getting pushed under the bus by Mayo. He knows how to manipulate the old man. So the empty-headed CEO coach gets another year, maybe even two.

Bottom line nobody knows anything.
who will come here and be a OC and DC for us?

Certainly no one at AVP’s level. There isn’t a single NFL caliber coordinator that’s going to work for a duplicitous incompetent head coach going into a lame duck season, who will throw them under the bus the first chance he gets.

I think Jonathan realizes that, I wonder if Robert does..

You would hope Jonathan also knows how to manipulate the old man.

Hopefully he can get him to understand the financial risk to the franchise and reputation as well as missing a great opportunity by having a potential great young QB fall into their laps, and not capitalize on it.

Maybe his ego will understand the hit it will take if he is seen as responsible for a missed opportunity by not leveraging the position they are in by bringing in a strong support infrastructure for Maye, and even worse, if the key elements of this missed opportunity go to the Rats and are successful there.

Worst case is things go so badly Maye decides he doesn’t want to stay past his first contract.

Is Mayo THAT important to your ego Bob?

I'd like to think you're on the right track but the evidence is that the brain trust in the owner's box has diagnosed the problem as AVP's playcalling. If that's where management's thought process is then there is no hope until the whole football world is laughing at the Krafts [early next season].

Can they Lure McDaniels to Be Oc?
Could be attractive to Josh who loves the area and was once promised the HC job himself. Maybe he is either comfortable being a career Oc or maybe he sees if Mayo fails he has a good a chance as the next coach to be Head Coach.
Just something to ponder.

You would hope that someone is reporting back to the Krafts about what gets posted here so that they have the pulse of the fan base.

I hope Bob can understand that there are two sides to the credit coin.

There is getting credit for something, and there is getting the blame for something, and both are in play here.

Bob wants credit for the first dynasty, but that is a misplaced idea. Bob hired BB and BB drafted Brady.

Bob would have been advised to stay out of the football aspects, unless he is called on for something like defending the architects of the dynasty when there are false accusations against them. You failed to do that.

Further you undermined BB by guaranteeing your successor in his contract. Regardless of the appearance that your chosen successor was not qualified, it undermined BB since he knew you were trying to replace him, and that replacement still being on the staff could undermine BB.

Now if you refuse to rectify this mistake, and allow something to happen like the Rats hiring Vrabel and Josh ( that is just one popular possibility), and benefit while the Pats continue to flounder, YOU will be identified as the culprit, and it will sully how your overall ownership of the franchise is seen.

Now on the other side of the coin, if you do the right thing, then you come out smelling like a rose.

Reports were that Jonathan was intimately involved in the decisions that led to the drafting of Maye.

That decision put the Pats in a great position to leverage this into another dynasty.

Now we are not there yet. Dynasties are hard. The Bills have a great QB but they don’t have a dynasty.

The Pats are in a great position to make some moves towards this end, but keeping Mayo is not the answer, and if you keep him, YOU will take the blame, and we all suffer.

McDaniels isn’t working for Mayo. Not in a million years.

Not early next season. Already happening.

The teams preparing to play the Patriots can easily see what a dumpster fire Patriot Place has turned into. They know the team is regressing. Anybody possibly looking for a job in the NFL will be looking at all the possible alternatives, just as Bill did with the Jets, and evaluating the potential employers.

Mayo doesn’t have a network of coaches he’s worked with so any prospective coaching hires will be looking at the team objectively. They can see everything we see, and make their own informed evaluation. The rest of the league will be doing that routinely, every day. By this point in the season they’ve all got a clear picture.

Problem now is that if they fire the OC and/or DC, the Krafts may find it difficult to find any qualified replacements willing to come to Foxboro and coach under Mayo as HC and Wolf as GM. It’s that much of a ****show.

Would McDaniels come back as OC if his contract contained the same HC succession clause that Mayo had?

Exactly. That’s what Jonathan was grousing about in the box, not Covington or the Condiment. AVP is gone, and he’s the least of the team’s problems, and probably their most competent coach.

Bob has lost about 20 mph off his pedestrian 85 mph fastball. BB’s early success and continued brilliance protected Patriots Nation from a below average owner. Now Bob is an elderly man being scammed by a nice telemarketer named Mayo and Jonathan has yet to do something about it.

Chris are you OK? You think the Raiders will hire McDaniels as their OC while they are still paying him his Head Coach contract money he was just fired from last year?
Brady is going to have a huge saying there and they are both friends with Tom.
