This statement alone says Covington should be fired

We can add the OL
coach to the list.
He just said the reason the center messed up multiple snaps is because he had a towel tucked in his pants and the ball hit it. TWICE. THEN they removed it. Once wasn’t enough we had to let it happen twice.
And he excused Lowe’s play because he’s been playing hurt. Not sure how a shoulder injury prevents you from moving on the snap count but that’s todays news from the Foxboro Asylum.

Here's the problem, who takes Covington's place if he's fired?

The scheme would have to change because Mayo is not capable of guiding someone which leads to the next question.

What defensive coach would want to coach under Mayo knowing he's probably going to get fired in 2025?
The scheme needs to change. You can’t run belichicks schene with someone who doesn’t understand it.
Start over.

When you jump into someone else’s conversation to call people racist, you are the woke

Many words typed today. Words and some more words in reply. Words, words with words.

Woke mob

Maybe don't boil your argument down to someone's skin color if you don't want it to be questioned.

Tough concept for you, but I didn't bring race into this discussion. If it offends you, don't start the discussion, no place for snowflakes here.

Go back and read what you said then read what he said. You said "He ranted about teaching the fundamentals “every day” and then said he’s proud of the guys for showing up to work every day." That's not what he said. He said "And I'm proud of the way the guys show up to work every day. And you guys should be proud of those guys they way they show up to work every day." The Way they show up. He did not say he was proud of them showing up every day.
That's literally the same thing.

You're either being autistic or ******ed, I can't figure out which yet.

I didn’t bring race into it. You did.

I didn’t bring race into it. You did.
If you think that, you are ****ing stupid.

Actually never mind, you were incomprehensibly stupid before this.

Another goddamn thread you **** up that I have to mute you on.

Another w/o reading comprehension. Did you make it past 5th grade?

Like clockwork. You are wrong and you start the juvenile name calling.

You bringing race into it

That doesn't mean he got it because of his race and because Kraft wanted to fill a checkbox. Across every business someone gets the favor of their boss and gets hotracked to bigger roles. Happens all the time.

Making this race thing just screams people wanting to shove their political takes into this. Like am I supposed to assume that if Mayo wasn't the Optum run, the Israel trip, being friendly with Thunder was all going to not equal the same outcome?

It's stupid and does more to hurt the argument against Mayo and makes it about something else.

The Patriots’ defense ranked first in EPA (expected points added) per play during Steve Belichick’s tenure as play-caller from 2019 to 2023. They’re currently 30th this season.

“Yeah, I would say every year is different. Every defense is different. So that’s kind of how I look at it. Like I wouldn’t read too much into it,” Covington said. “So for us, we’re just trying to do the best we can every week, us as a coaching staff, us as the players, and I think those guys are working hard and trying to do what we ask them to do. So, I look at each year being different. So, like what you did last year, what we did previous years, every year is different. So that’s kind of how I look at it.”

Seriously? Don’t read too much into being bad on the field? Like that doesn’t matter? Who TF would say that wings any drive to be great?
You and I disagreed a bit during the Brady and Belichick dynasty but I agree with everything you’ve been saying about this regime. Our coaching staff is terrible

Worst OL "coaches" in the Entire ****ing League, to go with our league-worst WRs coaches, DC & HC.

That’s what worries me about moving Strange to center. We’ve got our OL coach saying it’s a good idea, when he has yet to show any success in his track record here.

I understand what you’re saying, and that does happen, but this is not a case of it. He ranted about teaching the fundamentals “every day” and then said he’s proud of the guys for showing up to work every day and then told the reporters that they, too, should be thankful that they show up.

Covington:
"We work those fundamentals every day, so, and we'll continue to work on it. And I'm proud of the way the guys show up to work every day. And you guys should be proud of those guys the way they show up to work every day."
He didn't say to be proud of the guys for showing up to work, he's saying to be proud of the guys the way they show up to work. There's a huge difference for me there. This is the kind of twist that pisses BB off and makes him grumble answers.

People say it doesn't matter but if you are an employer...do you want disgruntled employees working for you or do you want people that give a **** and try to the best of their abilities?

Defensive EPA this year is about the same as when they made it to the SB in 2011 (and better than 2020) and not much lower than the 2017 SB loss team. Yes it sucks, but considering the offensive struggles and injuries, it's not quite fireable as a one and done for me, but I have a different mendoza line. 2019 was also abnormally historically high (Boogeymen) which can massively skew the data.

Counterpoint only 1 Jets team was worse...

I'm not sure I follow in the context...
