The Case Against Eliot Wolf

Your hatred of Belichick is out of control.

Blank said these things at a news conference. It's recorded.

[URL

Kraft said these things on the record. Your sycophancy of Belichick is out of control.

I think Belichick is the GOAT, period. I think the Lombardi Trophy should be renamed for him. And I have defended Belichick thousands of times over the past 25 years. I am just willing to acknowledge his weaknesses and mistakes, which makes me a hater, because you see any criticism of him as “ hate.”

I plan on rooting for UNC and told a friend the other day that I believe he will win a national championship there.

You know what Belichick received at UNC?

Total control.

Your answer makes no sense, it's illogical.

Before 2020, Belichick didn't do all the scouting. The scouts did that. Then he made the final decision. He overruled them.

So you're saying nothing changed in 2020, even though Kraft said it did.

What the heck does more collaboration mean? It means Belichick would go along with their recommendations.

Otherwise NOTHING changed in 2020 even though Kraft said it did.

I think Belichick consulted with his staff and scouts more than he had prior to Kraft’s comment. Then he made the final decisions. At no point did anyone e driver rule his decisions, and have never once been able to demonstrate any instance of him being overridden.

So now Blank -- who went on at length about Belichick not asking for total control -- is a liar.

And not only that, but you're doubling back on what you said which is that what Blank said only came through some reporter's account.

No, the guy is on record. The NCAA is not the NFL. Two different things.

Kraft is a PROVEN LIAR.

Consulted more? What does that even mean?

Belichick was never the scout for these players. He doesn't have time for that.

You're twisting yourself into a pretzel.

He always got the recommendations from scouts and personnel, consulted with them, prior to 2020. He always did that, of course.

The word "Collaborate" is totally different than "Consult..."

Next thing you know you will be citing some reporters as reliable sources.

Are you having a tough day?

I linked to Blank saying that already.

This isn't hard, Ivan, but you are certainly incredibly deranged when it comes to Belichick.

So which is it Upstater? You believe Kraft and reporters? Or you don’t believe Kraft and reporters?

Upstater post 1- “ I believe Kraft and reporters.”

Upstater post 2- “ I don’t believe Kraft and reporters.”

Which is it Upstater?

If you look at this realistically we are in this mess because of both Belichick and Wolf.

Belichick for a decade of bad to mediocre drafts and Wolf for a ****ty draft and FA this year. None of us know how deep Wolf’s influence was before this year, but we can all see how bad this years class is.

What scares me is Wolf going for Polk over McConkey. We had numerous posters on here screaming for McConkey who showed great separation in college and reminded people of Edelman. Polk wasn’t even the number 1 on his team and had horrible separation numbers, yet somehow we ended up with him. Imagine Maye to McConkey for the next 7 years or so.

After last draft I don’t trust Wolf at all to restock this team with talent.

You're losing it Ivan. I think I've said it many times, Kraft is a PROVEN LIAR. Even the ex-players responding to the Dynasty called him on the lies.

I've only said this 18x. There is no contradiction here.

But but but-you just said you believed Kraft on his collaboration comment? Then you call him a liar?
Why is this so difficult for you?

Why is this so difficult for you?
Probably because you also said this on page 4 of this thread.

“Really, at the end of the day, I'm going to believe Kraft, Breer, Callahan.” - Upstater

Correct me if I’m wrong but you said you trusted Bob Kraft one page before you called him a liar.

You also said “ so, you going to believe some reporters?” When you also said “ I believe Breer and Callahan”

What a complete and utter load of ********.

Ivan - I agree that one year is not enough, but even if Wolf did not make the picks, I am sure Kraft/Wolf had private conversations together on what Wolf thought. I mean he worked for Kraft. Even though BB had 100% control it is not logical that Kraft and Wolf never privately spoke. My point is Kraft must have more than one year of information, and maybe that's even why Wolf stays. But the one year argument is weak IMO.

Forgetting that Wolf was granted the third pick every round, every single player after Maye is struggling. Maybe some work out. Ok. And the FA's are a disaster. BUT THAT IS NOT THE REASON I want him fired.

It's approach and philosophy, and that will not change IMO. So whether it's being more comfortable trading down (because the odds are your first draft day move is how you feel most comfortable), or thinking your smarter than everyone by drafting and signing guards to play tackle, this approach feels similar to other years, no matter who was deciding. I don't want this approach and it's illogical to feel that will change, based on his first year.

I'm not even judging Wolf's actual poor moves because the Krafts have more information on this than you or I. You're right. People make mistakes or it does take time to work out. I am mostly judging Wolf's approach and instinct. Even if by some miracle a few of these moves work out, I want that gone. Now!
