This statement alone says Covington should be fired

It's different when Belichick says it because we like him more.
The difference is they said different things. If belichick ever cis he’d a defense that went from first to 30th in a large important metric and was asked about it he would not say that doesn’t matter, I don’t worry about that.
If he had I would have called for him to be fired, but he didn’t, because he doesn’t have that mentality.

Well, for whatever it's worth (probably nothing), I'm not opposed to keeping AVP as QB Coach. He's done a solid job with Maye and Milton as far as the fundamentals of what a Pro-QB needs to know: Footwork, Throwing Motion, Working Under Center, Etc.
I don’t buy that. There is a propensity to say “that guy coached rookies so he’s good with rookies”
But how do you measure his coaching on Maye? Maye has a QB coach, and an extra coach, macadoo, so how much is AVP coaching him and how much is just Maye himself and not the coaches?
As far as Milton how would you judge that, he hasn’t played at all.

You best believe that Covington would be reading into it like a mofo if the D had improved. He’s just as much of a fraud as his good buddy Jerod. Fire both of their asses.

I just know that he's developed good fundamentals. Whether it's AVP, McAdoo, or whoever. I'm not opposed to a significant upgrade at OC and if there's a better QB Coach they can hire, I'm good with that.

I fault the coaching for the team's performance so I want the coaches fired. Similarly, I think Maye looks better then he did on his college tape, so I think Maye is working hard and the coaching, McAdoo, AVP, and/or McCartney must be doing something right.

Not really parallels to engaging in prostitution.
I'd argue there's something just as morally questionable building and promoting a business based on voodoo health and wellness that isn't based in reality and making millions off it.

When a position coach is promoted to a coordinator position, one has to ask: Has this ever happened before? Is this a thing?

Or a man promoted to head coach who never was a sole coordinator? Remember Stevie B laid out the approach and JMayo put the blueprint into execution.

Mayo will someday be a fine coach. But that’s two or three seasons away.

Covington? Well, some guys can make a fine career as a position coach. No disrespect in that.

But to be blunt, Robert Kraft went woke to appease his Long Island neighbors. And it’s going to coast his franchise another two years’ delay before the Patriots have a legitimate chance at making the playoffs.

Stop with this woke dei nonsense, it just exposes you.

Mayo seemed like a good candidate to coach. That is it. Kraft is old and did not want to do the work to bring in a whole new coaching staff.

The number of people who suffer from brain rot are too many.

It's actually not bad, just regular evasive stuff. Cov is a chill dude. He'd even be likeable to me if the defense hadn't regressed so spectacularly with 90% the same players. This wouldn't even register among the worst things Mayo says in any given minute.

The Patriots’ defense ranked first in EPA (expected points added) per play during Steve Belichick’s tenure as play-caller from 2019 to 2023. They’re currently 30th this season.

“Yeah, I would say every year is different. Every defense is different. So that’s kind of how I look at it. Like I wouldn’t read too much into it,” Covington said. “So for us, we’re just trying to do the best we can every week, us as a coaching staff, us as the players, and I think those guys are working hard and trying to do what we ask them to do. So, I look at each year being different. So, like what you did last year, what we did previous years, every year is different. So that’s kind of how I look at it.”

Seriously? Don’t read too much into being bad on the field? Like that doesn’t matter? Who TF would say that wings any drive to be great?
I didn't know whether to use a laughing, sad or angry emoji. I went with laugh because that is all we can do with this "coaching" staff. The good news is I believe only AVP is the only one not expediting his departure every time he speaks to the media.

I mean if you're last name is Kraft and you spend a lot of time down at 1 Patriot way how do you not get infuriated with ignorant comments like this....nearly on a daily basis.

With that said maybe Wolf is the only smart one of the bunch. When was the last time he opened his mouth?

Don't make excuses for excuse-makers!
Mayo is a blame-shifter (something learned in the corporate world at mid-manager level)
DC has NO CLUE what he's doing. That's not hyperbole, that is fact - just look on the field.
No one can blame roster problems for basically the exact Defense as last year - doing remarkably worse in every category.
Including - your most productive guys from last year getting visibly worse at fundamentals. That's a coaching problem.

No he did not. He never ran anything as a coordinator. He was a Co-DC that never called plays. He was a "hot" name for HC jobs according to the media but never took a job because he knew the deal. Hell did he even interview any where? I honestly can't recall him actually taking an interview over the two years or so that he was being talked about as a HC candidate.

I know there were plenty of us who were not in board with him being the coach and had very little if any confidence in his legitimacy as a HC.

The franchise that won the most games, most playoff games and most SBs ever in a 20 year run of excellence has been reduced to saying don’t worry about bad results, we try hard.

I think after the off season he had ( possibly the worst of any gm in the cap era) he is very smart to remain in hiding.

Can you explain how??? He literally said what I said
Go back and read what you said then read what he said. You said "He ranted about teaching the fundamentals “every day” and then said he’s proud of the guys for showing up to work every day." That's not what he said. He said "And I'm proud of the way the guys show up to work every day. And you guys should be proud of those guys they way they show up to work every day." The Way they show up. He did not say he was proud of them showing up every day.
