AVP comments about JK being upset @ playcalling.

I though AVP was an experienced OC. I get the point you are making but did Kraft solo make all those choices?

Did he independently choose Wolf as his GM and Mayo as his HC then picked the OC and DC himself?

If he made all those choices on his own I agree.

If hired Mayo and Mayo chose his staff then the staff is on Mayo. If Kraft picked Mayo and Wolf separately then I would agree that was a mistake as I believe a GM or HC should be in agreement with the GM/HC choice.
This is AVP’s first year calling the actual plays. He had filled in and done it once before to my knowledge and that was that.

It's a 3-11 team. They're all losers. The question is how do they become winners. If it's firing AVP and keeping Mayo... I'm not sure we'd call that winning.
Everyone needs to go. Wolf, Mayo and the entire coaching staff.

Kraft didn’t say it publicly and surely didn’t know the camera and lip readers were tuned into his private conversation.
If it made the guy who sucks at calling plays uncomfortable why is that a bad thing?
That's total garbage that he didn't know the camera and lip readers would tune in. They show him on camera every week. His dad has talked about his blue collar shirt he wears for good luck because the media asks about it since they see it every week. The Krafts aren't idiots. They know they're on camera.

It's not a bad thing to make him uncomfortable about bad play calls. It's bad to do it publicly. How does that help. If the Krafts have a problem with the playcalling, talk to Mayo and/or AVP. Do it in an environment where he can be candid and honest without having to play the game of not wanting to publicly shame the players. All that does is create potential conflict and dissention. There's absolutely no benefit to forcing him to answer that question in a public setting and anyone with even the slightest clue of how to run an organization would know that.

So you think they show him on camera every minute of every game?
I didn’t say he is never on camera I said he doesn’t know when he is on camera.

He didn’t do it publicly, he was caught doing it privately.

I’m just trying to figure out what’s so controversial about a run up the middle in short yardage. It has a high success rate and a low chance of anything going exceptionally wrong. Those two plays probably wouldn’t be in the top 20 most questionable offensive play calls of any given game.

I get what you’re saying about JK but AVP didnt say it was a bad call. He basically blamed it on the players for not executing.
Right. I said he has two options:

1) Admit it was a bad call. Undermine himself publicly and give the media/fans pitchforks to further undermine him when he's already under fire.

2) Say the players need to execute better, like he did. Now it looks like he's throwing them under the bus, possibility for conflict/dissention.

Neither help the team. It was irresponsible of the Krafts to be so carefree about what they say in the public eye and create this mess. If you're the owners you don't sit in the public eye and say the playcalling sucks. It's really so simple.

You're the owner of the team. You know the camera can pan to you at any time. You don't frustratingly say your playcalling sucks and create a **** storm for the team to deal with. If you don't have the self-control to control your emotions while watching then go completely in private. It's a very simple concept really. There shouldn't be much need to discuss this.

I don't blame Kraft for being frustrated, but it's not like this should be some epiphany to him. It's been clear for a while our playcalling and offensive players suck. He should be well aware of what he's in to watch each week.

It’s not going to happen.
I’ve resigned the fact that we won’t see Maye say a negative word this isn’t Mac Jones.

I thought the reaction was when we ran for like -6 on 2nd and 2 or something like that.
Maybe it was to failing or 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 with basically the same call.

Since when does Jonathan know anything about calling plays?

Maye doesn’t have to. The world is telling Kraft he f-ed up.

Since when does van pelt know anything about calling plays?
I’d say recognizing van pelt sucks at it makes him a better judge of play calling than van pelt.

Schefter is is claiming Mayo stays.
He is rarely wrong with his information.
Mayo seems secure that he’s staying.
My concern about this Bills game is we win.
We know how to defend Allen from playing Maye and Milton in practice all the time.

Buys Mayo 2 additional 3 win seasons.

It was also a bad call. Running the same play that was stuffed the prior snap demonstrates a poor playcaller

Yeah, Jonathan’s clip was after the bigger loss near the end of the second quarter. The media is a lot more focused on the short yardage at the end of the third quarter.

If we had a wr with burst and speed like a Reagor or Thornton we could be really creative in those short yardage situations.

I thought so as well watching it live.

Schefter actually said that was the plan going into December but said 3 separate times last week was a bad game and there are 3 left and a lot can change.
Do you think the opinion of Mayo will improve or get worse when we play the bills twice and the chargers, probably the 3 hardest games on the schedule (and the 4th was a blowout in Houston)

We aren’t beating the Bills. We will be embarrassed. The guy who knows how to defend Allen is in North Carolina now, and other guy involved is out in Washington as DC.

In any event, JK was probably speaking about 2024 not a particular call.

31st in points and 30th in yards doesn’t usually come from ingenious play calling.

The media is focused on that because a reporter asked an innocent question regarding giving Drake a shot in those situations due to his size/talent and Mayo replied “that’s — … you said it, I didn’t” (which was implying that he wanted to do the same thing but wasn’t listened to. So the natural conclusion is that he was blaming the OC)
