I fail to see what I said that was disrespectful. I was talking about Jonathan Kraft and his remarks make on TV during the missed 3rd and 4th downs. He made the comments, he helped put this leadership team together, not me. When I said point the finger at ownership, I was referring to Jonathan who is heavily involved. He’s not technically an owner, so my bad. RK in my opinion is more hands off now and along for the ride. Thats why he has gotten so many new people involved.

This is ridiculous. He made those comments to his father in the heat of the game, just like any fan would, not knowing the camera would be on him to make it his "official" position. And I think we all agree with his assessment of the play calling of that 3rd and 4th down inside the five.

I though AVP was an experienced OC. I get the point you are making but did Kraft solo make all those choices?

Did he independently choose Wolf as his GM and Mayo as his HC then picked the OC and DC himself?

If he made all those choices on his own I agree.

If hired Mayo and Mayo chose his staff then the staff is on Mayo. If Kraft picked Mayo and Wolf separately then I would agree that was a mistake as I believe a GM or HC should be in agreement with the GM/HC choice.

It makes me think of the scam artist spiritualist who bilks old rich people by calling up the ghost of a departed spouse who then, thru the spiritualist, instructs the victim to lavishly fund the spiritualist's "institute".

You need to figure out how to get things done like run for a half yard. Does anyone on the Pats coaching staff take responsibility for anything?

My memory is that Kraft was the one who started the Ct courting to begin with. Saved it from St. Louis? Sure, yep, but the Conn. thing was his own making.

Exactly ... I remember Belichick one time addressing this.
He said if your calling off tackle even if the other team knows the call ... if you execute properly the play will be positive.

For us, it's all about practice. Practice execution becomes game reality. If we can do it in practice, executing plays properly in practice in the right situation, then we have a chance to do that in the game. The players have done that before. They know what is expected. They know what the purpose of the play is and what the goal of the situation is, how to handle and what we're looking for as an end result. We try to execute the play properly in that way

Having the correct call and executing it poorly are two different things. So I get what he's saying. You can have the personnel and the call that makes the most sense against the defense you are getting and then somebody gets beat hard at the point of attack and it blows up. This isn't an exact science.

I think a lot of them are trying to get around saying "you know sometimes I'm getting lit up by you guys for plays that should have worked and were objectively the best call for the scenario but a lot of these players suck and and are a liability to ruin the right play".

Of course. That is not the point. Not every play is going to work. The other team is trying too.

Get back to me when one coach on the Pats says "I have to be better". "I have to work harder to teach better, to train better, to recognize the situation and improve the players chances of success". Is it too much for the coaches to take responsibility and work harder after a loss?
