Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

I’m not one to give him credit for drafting Maye. He had the third pick in a 3 QB draft in a season you desperately needed a QB.

There was some crazy people out there wanting to trade back but conventional wisdom was you had to take a QB there.

I judge him from all of the other moves and can’t think of a single one that has panned out. That seems almost impossible to do.
Bill already had said he wouldn’t have took Maye.
It would have been a trade down.

To be fair I’m speculating because he was very critical about Maye prior to the draft.
When said he compared to Allen Bill scoffed and said we’ll see.
I think he trades back to the Minnesota pick and we end up with JJ or Bo Nix. He also very publicly was not a Josh Allen fan until recently. He’s the GOAT but I’m not really interesting in Belichick’s QB analysis in 2024.

Option C:
Keep Jerod, keep AVP, the offense improves slightly and they fire everyone after 2025, and Maye ends up with his 2nd OC in 3 years in 2026.
The dreaded option D:

Keep Jerod, win 6 games next year, call it progress, win 8 the following year, call it more progress. Maye develops into a perennial all-pro and yet the team caps at 10 wins and early playoff exits.

This is how I see it:

2025: Fire Mayo and his staff, hire Vrabel and let him bring in his own staff. Keep Wolf, make some changes to positions under Wolf to bring in some new voices.

2026: If front office still isn’t getting it done, fire Wolf and replace him with someone Vrabel wants. Both guys have signed off on each other, Vrabel is good enough to keep the team at least competitive. Give that pairing 2 years.

2028: Time to extend Maye. If front office is still not getting it done then either replace the GM and possibly Vrabel, or give Vrabel executive power if he has earned it.
If you were Vrabel and Kraft wanted you--knowing what a **** Vrabel can be--would you accept Wolf? Or would you hold out for your own GM because you knew the Pats were over a barrel?

I'm less critical of Wolf than others, but If it's going that way, I hope Vrabel can convince Kraft that the decisions on Chuks, Osbourne, Brisset and Polk is enough to fire Wolf. Clean house and start fresh.

I still think we could get a staff from PatsFans that could do better than Mayo. ****, I see offenses setting up and I can mostly tell where the ball is supposed to go. Question is, why can't they?

Some posters theorized this, he never said that.
Go look up his take on Maye on draft night.

He never, ever would have taken Maye at 3. Less than zero percent chance of that happening. Maye would be a Giant right now.

My new avatar. Going to change now. I'm going to miss the male cheerleader.

Here is BBs glowing review of Maye. I mean it's not terrible, but doesn't strike me as a guy who would have been cartwheeling over drafting Maye.
