Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

I would give Kliff Kingsbury a chance. I'd be interested in what he could do with Maye on offense and assume he would hire an actual defensive coordinator.
I wouldn't.

I get Mayo has turned off a lot people from getting a first time coach but for posterity sake of the current 8 division leaders, Sirianni, McVay, Campbell, McDermott, Tomlin, and Ryan are all coaches in their first stint as HC in the league. Granted Tomlin's been around forever but the Steelers were the team that gave him his shot.

Reid and Bowles are the only ones who were hired by their current team having prior success as a HC.

Todd Bowles had HC success prior to being hired by the Bucs?

Hiring the right rookie head coach makes the difference. We need an innovative, offensive minded coach to continue to develop Drake.
Joe Brady l, and it weakens the Bills.

You are either being intentionally misleading or are just phenomenally ignorant.

Newsflash: She is not just the "team lawyer". One of her roles is "Senior Advisor to the Head Coach." There are plenty of reports suggesting she is doing more than just drafting contracts, dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

When the head coaching sucks, it is perfectly valid to question what exactly the "Senior Advisor to the Head Coach" is advising and yes, maybe even remove her from that role.
I could tell who you were replying to based on the tenor of your post, and opened a private window to confirm (as I have that poster blocked).

Absolutely not.

No more rookie Head Coaches please.
Ben Johnson has proven his worth tenfold for years now.

And when he has rookie HC growing pains you at least have legitimate reasons to be confident in his growth and learning.

Another underrated factor: up-and-coming offensive coaches want to be associated with him, especially if it's him + Maye. That means an OC that wasn't your 12th choice, and a WR coach that you didn't have to scrape from the bottom of your shoe. Nobody with any pedigree is willing to work under an evident fraud like Mayo. Ben Johnson immediately changes that.

The scary thing is this motley crew of ~ GM/Coaching Staff ~ may have just added another year to our rebuild. I figured two years before the season. Now I am not so sure.

Um...what? Yes it is.
I don’t think it is. I think Campbell is the rah rah culture guy and Ben Johnson designs the scheme, game plan, and runs the offense.

Yeah, this staff has not actually done anything to build up the team. Their only success was drafting the QB who fell to them at 3 which any idiot could’ve done. There’s been zero progress or improvement in any phase otherwise except I suppose Special Teams, but that doesn’t contribute much to the total success of the org.

They’ll basically be in the same position next year as they were this year except for the fact that they have a good QB now. You may as well replace everyone because I don’t know what part of this mess you feel like you’re hurting yourself if you lose.

Every ****ing week with this guy. It’s sad because I loved him as a player but over the course of the season he’s slowly made me just straight-up hate him. He does nothing well and constantly seems to be acting like a little snake, which is probably how he got here in the first place.

It's getting incredibly tiresome.
At this point, it's not even the bad coaching - he can't even learn from his media mistakes. He knows that...people can see him, right? His players? They can hear him?
This has been my main issue with Mayo. The fact that so much of the crap he has to deal with is self-inflicted. It seems like literally every week he says something stupid in a blatant attempt to shift blame. From his comments about the state of the roster earlier this year, to calling the team soft, and now to this week's nonsense, he just can't help himself. Mayo needs to take accountability and stop the finger-pointing followed by walking it back a day later.

It's disappointing. Was one of my favorites during his time here. But the guy just seems confused and lost in this position.

Best for all parties to cut ties after this year.

Anyone else deeply concerned a change won't be made? Feeling like keeping Mayo another year could set the franchise back even further. Could really be bad for Maye's development.

Not gonna happen. Mayo's the Eddie Haskell of coaches. It's just in his nature to be a weasel.
