Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

Mayo is unlikely to win one of the last 4 games, Cards, Chargers, and Bills 2x, so he has to win one of the next 2 games, Miami in FL or against the Colts.

If Mayo loses the last 7 games in a row and finishes 3 - 14, it is hard seeing him coming back next year. Mayo's defense looks like it is collapsing and his press conferences are abysmal.

Thunder is looking for outside QB coaching which means he is unconvinced with the inside coaching. AVP addressed the rumor in his press conference and did not deny the rumor and said he was not involved in the outside search. It looks like Thunder is doing a coaching pre-search after he skipped the process in 2024.

IF he doesn't have Two more Wins than BB: Mayo should be One and Done! The Cardinals and Dolphins are going to mop the floor with us on the Road. We are not playing Caleb Williams @ QB every week sorry Mayo.

The bottom line is that exceptional good QBs make NFL coaches look like Vince Lombardi.

Andy Reid - Mahomes
Belichick - Brady
Shanahan - Elway
Dungy - P Manning
Coughlin - E Manning
Walsh - Montana
Johnson - Aikman
Noll - Bradshaw
Mayo - Nevermind.

Yeah….we aren’t beating Miami…in Miami. Hope this doesn’t age well….might have a shot against Indy

Jim harbaugh is building a good program in Los Angeles like he did at Michigan and San Francisco.

Is mayo a program builder? I don’t think so. Yes he’s working with a rookie qb but this defense has been bad.

I wish there was an offensive guy out there with a proven track record of winning. If mcvay ever becomes available, I’d get him.

And mirror him with a tough, physical demanding DC.

Thunderdick should've signed-over a blank check to Harbaugh.

The stock on Ben Johnson keeps going up with these offensive outputs for Detroit.

Even if Mayo squeezes out two more wins to ellipse Bill, you have to swallow your pride and cut bait with Mayo now before it gets worse and waste a few years with Maye. The Pats are really lucky they have 3 wins at this point.

We also need a different HC that could poach guys from other teams in FA like Parcells, Carroll and Belichick did. Mayo only has ties to NE. They are lucky decent RB in Gibson signed with NE.

Ben Johnson is building fine resume in Detroit...seems like everybody on that team can run and catch. The Krafts would be foolish to pass I like Kliff K too.

After the Chicago game win and the way Maye is playing, keeping us close, I don't think there's much chance Mayo doesn't get a second year.
You’re scaring me.

I am less concerned about having Mayo as HC, than I am about ownership who would hire him in the first place, let him alone keep him past this year.

I think the Krafts are in their Jerry Jones "we were the most important contributors to the dynasty years" phase so why would they need to second guess their decision on Mayo? They saw a great win in Chicago and competitive games that came down to one score/play. So therefore, they probably think we're a competitive team and will be much better next year with more experience.

What if we lose the next Six?? Very possible mind you.

I don't think they'll change course on Mayo until they're getting mocked within the billionaires' club for sticking with him. That may take a while.

I believe the reports that Kraft had second thoughts as far back as last summer.

Kraft promised Mayo the job when he believed it would be handed over under different circumstances. He talks openly about how during the time Kraft made the promise to Mayo, he made mistakes in decisions, even if Mayo isn't specifically the one mentioned.

I don't think Mayo's job is guaranteed safe, but if a good offensive guy comes along, like Brian Daboll, is available for OC, the switch is made, and he's the next head coach if Mayo still hasn't learned after next year.

Or Kraft just goes for the Detroit OC as head coach. Maye plus the draft position would make this the best job available. (Also plus the cap.)

Daboll is a good OC he just doesn't have a QB perfect Match.

Mayo is a first year HC who has a rookie QB. He's not being compared to the dynasty era. He's being compared to what the GOAT HC was able to accomplish with a very similar team last year. Right now he's a win away from matching that. As long as there isn't a full scale meltdown the rest of the way, I have a very hard time thinking that there's going to be much clamoring for his head. There's going to be a lot of "Belichick couldn't win much with this team, Mayo needs more than a year and needs to be able to prove he can get the team to improve with some talent".

There were going to be growing pains with Mayo, this is pretty much a perfect time to work that out. Nobody should be deluding themselves into thinking Mayo is why we aren't a playoff team.

It's not a similar team. The most important position, QB, is being helmed this year by a vastly superior player.

Mac's play cost us games last year. Maye's play won us games this year.

Saying this is the same team is about as disingenuous as it gets.

What if we lose the next Six?? Very possible mind you.
I don't think that would do it, especially if Maye/the team is competitive in those games. This is how mediocre teams with good QBs get stuck in limbo for a long time.

Every Team we are playing are in it the mix for the Playoffs. We have a up hill climb with this paltry Roster...we are putting way too much pressure on Maye.

We should be all-in on hiring Robert Saleh next season. Covington is just not ready.
