I'm thinking that defense was more related to the Bears being Putrid than a sudden improvement in defense. Bears haven't scored a TD in 2 games now.
Teams with a not such a bad offense will be tougher to beat.
Everyone they face will be much better offense than the Bears.
Rams, Dolphins Colts, Chargers in the middle of NFL offenses but Bills and Cardinals closer to the top.
Colts probably weakest of the group. Best chance to win another IMO.
Teams that are good and buy into the coaching play better in November and December. Interesting to see how team does down the stretch.

It's nice they seemed to have an actual gameplan.

I don't understand how anyone could disagree with this statement.

Even if they had won those two games I wouldn’t consider them a playoff contender. Their OAl would still be just as bad as it is, and I just don’t see how any team with that bad of an ALL could make the playoffs.

If they won those games the Pats would actually be the 7th seed.

I never said they would be a playoff contender. I said they would be in the conversation.

If a team is actually the 7th seed with almost 60% of the season complete, how is that a statement someone would disagree with?

It's mind blowing to think that as abysmal that we have been this season that we are only 2 games out of an actual play off seed wow!

It really speaks to what an idiotic move it was by the owners to include more playoff teams.

Playoff contention in the topic of this thread. And I think you can look at this team objectively and recognize that they aren’t a playoff contender, and imo that’s also the point of this thread.

If you want to be optimistic that’s fine. Completely understandable. I just think that it doesn’t matter who your QB is when the OL is garbage. You can’t run, there’s no time to throw, and OL get penalties when they are constantly being beat, and those penalties derail drive after drive. Until the OL can hold their own, at a minimum, they won’t contend for a playoff spot.

Maye has taken some vicious shots but the fact remains he makes this Garbage
OL look a lot better than it is. IF our D plays reasonable we should be in every game from here on out. Any given Sunday anything can happen.

I'm a massive homer, but no. We lost too many games imo. The Dolphin loss annoyed me the most since it felt like they didn't even want to win at times.

The Patriots have a chance now to play better. They've been competitive this year, but in most ways they've been their own worst enemy.

Two things concern me about the team now: Inexperience, and depth - that is, the lack of it.

Just thought out send you this. Of the FA WRs to be. It's pretty evident Drake needs some help It's Boutte and occasionally pop.

I think if we can borrow the bills playbook and do short passes to Douglas or Boutte in slot, we can motivate the Oline and start to make it look better than what it's showing.

No line can protect a QB for over 3 seconds. I would say Caleb made the bears Oline look worse than what they are. I blame it on OC and Caleb. Why play hero ball. Mahomes average passing yards depth has reduced every year over last 3 years .

I think we stand a fighting chance in all games if our play calling changes a bit. Maye doesn't need to play hero ball. And I doubt teams can defend pass and run at same time . Pop is actually an great weapon on first downs . Too bad AVP is just thinking about runs on the first play. Mix em up.

Fair point, I have just always believed that you can’t win if your OL sucks, and the Patriots OL really sucks. I do believe it can be fixed this offseason, but right now it’s really bad.
