Jaguar Mac Jones is about to embarrass the genius BB and his all star coaching staff [mod edit: he didn’t]

The selection of Jones, but then insisting he play afterwards dragged it out way longer than it had to.

#Collaboration
I think the biggest mistakes he made was towards the end he picked coaches he was comfortable with and seemed to get more stubborn but both of those come with age so it’s not really surprising

I think there’s a distinct possibility he picked his friends to coach offense in 2022 because his relationship with Jonathan Kraft was deteriorating and he didn’t want to hire his replacement, or bring in someone new who would be fired within a year after he either quit or got fired.

Multiple reporters have written about Jonathan trying to make Bill’s life difficult. I’m sure Jonathan wanted a clean break, a younger coach, and to remake the team in his image. It’s his team, he can do what he wants… but I suspect that’s why it ended so poorly.

The Dynasty documentary, reports by writers, Bill’s buddies in the media like Lombardi trashing Jonathan… pretty clear how it went down.

The BB haters here have a narrative they want to push, but it was clearly a collaborative mess in the end.

Mac Jones sucks lol. Look I do think BB made some mistakes his last few years but Mac Jones being garbage isn’t one of them. You can’t coach garbage
No, but Mac Jones killed the coach. BB should have axed him year 2 when he started whining in training camp.

I figured Mac would never be a starter again but he'd probably be one of the highest-floor career backups in the league. After yesterday, I'm also kinda doubting that. I guess he won't always play a Brian Flores defense, though.

Night and day difference between Maye & Mac Jones. Maye can make any throw necessary. Can run too. I don't feel like he will need everything to go perfect to win.
All true. Even with the same toolset, Maye would be much better because he is calm and cool under pressure where Mac completely loses his mind.

Can't blame the Pats for this one.

-Great protection

-3 guys wide open

-Stares the guy with the tightest coverage down the whole time

Just look at the RB as the checkdown, if he goes to him the RB gets the 1st down easily

It’s not Mac’s fault! It’s his 4th offensive coordinator in 4 years! No one specifically told him before that play to not throw it to the other team!

A QB can get by with OK arm strength as long as they are solid pre-snap, go through their progressions patiently, can anticipate, and are accurate.

Mac's #1 issue is he locks on to his targets and has not improved at all.

Maye is far from being a finished product but is already better at anticipation and accuracy than Mac....and his cannon arm and mobility make up for the other areas in which he has room to grow.

He did, but he wasn't the only one. Mac was just another example of the long list of players Bill picked in the draft that amounted to nothing. It's not their fault. Joe Thuney was the only guy voted into a Pro Bowl or All Pro on offense or defense from the 2014-2023 drafts. He immediately left after that. The problem with Bill's drafts during that time period was there wasn't enough impact players. Bill had to constantly make trades and moves in FA to help cover up the draft blunders. This was especially glaring after Tom and the dynasty players left. HC's and GM's eventually meet their fate with poor drafts.

Starting Jones against the Bears was fatal. I can't get inside Bill's head, but simply keeping the kid in there while the team was playing very effectively is not pretending Zappe's the second coming or anything, it's just common sense. But Bill loves to go against the grain.

Not keeping Zappe as the starter was fatal to that season, the team's immediate future and probably his job. Kraft wasn't gonna fire him as the team was in the playoffs (which is where they were headed) and BB nipping on Shula's heels.

This is the most encouraging and inspiring thing that has happened for the Patriots and their fans in the last two years, at least.

Matt Patricia is guilty of stripping every ounce of confidence from Mac’s body with historically horrendous coaching

Mac Jones is guilty of being immature and mentally weak without any fortitude in his makeup.

Belichick is guilty of spearheading the most porous drafting of offense skilled positions during a 7 year stretch (2017-2024) by an NFL GM

Patricia's offense in 2022 at the half way mark was better than O'Briens 2023 offense or AVP's 2024 offense? How did Patricia have historically horrendous coaching when historically better?

History teaches us that all dynasties fall at some point in time. Guess it was the same for BB.

I agree that the Bears game was a harbinger of things to come when it came to Mac establishing himself as a franchise QB. There was a lot of talk at the time that BB started Jones as a test of his toughness and his ability to play when injured. In other words, the team wanted to know if he was Brady like or more Jimmy G.

Compared to the previous season, 2022 was indeed a cluster****. Sometimes the scoresheet doesn’t tell the whole story…

Mac Jones sets the single season high for turnovers in a game for Jacksonville, oh yeah and a franchise low QB Rating all time…

Blame BB..
Wozzy it's a conspiracy I blame the collaboration.
