It took them 12 seconds and lot of luck to get that TD. They can't run the ball. They're also really bad inside the 5. Kicking the EP gave them the best chance to win. They couldn't take a TO to dial up a play since they were out of them. Going to overtime was the right call.
Honestly going for 2 is always the right call if you are bad team.

First, of all if you crunch the pure math there is a slight benefit to going for 2 over XP+OT(I think was maybe 1-2%). Don't forget you can miss the XP, especially nowadays.

Second, at this point the Patriots winning doesn't really matter. The Pats were 2-6, they pretty much would have to win out to make the playoffs. So its not worth fussing over minor win percentage differences

Third, playing in overtime increases the chances of injury. Injuries are the real loss.

Because they hired a rookie head coach and the roster was left in a state so bad that it's going to take at least two or three years to build it up again.
Huh? If it’s easy why didn’t they do it this year? The post says just go get a whole team, it’s easy

Because they didn’t have as many picks as I propose here, didn’t spend the cash like I propose here, and their coaches they have now suck
So they screw up the front office, the coaching staff the draft and free agency and it’s really easy to just go build a team so are you firing everyone?

I think part of the answer is we have $35 millionto spend now.
We have $135 million to spend in 2025.
We had 48 million in dead cap this year ... 5.6 million next year.

This year makes sense to me ... evaluate coaching, build a back half of the roster ... get Drakes feet wet.
We had 100,000,000 to spend this year. We didn’t not have 48 mill in dead cap where did you get that from?

How did they build a back half of the roster? It is epically bad filled with waiver wire pickups and practice squad guys.

Polk separates himself from the rest of Rookie WR's again Today...he's a Bust I'm done clueless player.
Is Polk the worst WR draft choice in Patriot history? 9.8 receiving yards per game and now he is getting mire penalties than targets. By far the least open wr in the NFL

I can name 10 just as bad or worse.

You stating that means you have no idea what you are looking at and how bad Polk is.

He's not the worst WR pick in Pats history, come on. No way.

He might be looking at his numbers. Look at his separation - worse in the whole NFL and not by a small amount.

Either way, you said you could name 10 worse. Another absurd exaggeration.

I think that award would probably go to Chad Jackson, who had Tom Brady throwing to him also....

Not ready to throw him into the "bust" category quite yet, personally... Awful OL and instability with OC and QB must make this a little more difficult projection.

NKeal Harry, Aaron Dobson, Bethel Johnson (as a WR - great return guy, however) are honorable mentions...

I said 10 as bad or worse. Names like Harry, Dropson, Chad Jackson, Bethel, Sam, Tate, Price, Boyce, Hart Lee Dykes for where he was drafted and I'll also count Slater since he was drafted as a WR and literally did nothing.

The exaggeration is already calling Polk the worst WR draft pick in team history after 9 games and worse than the guys above. Separation was fine at the start of the season.

If a team knows the run is coming they can stop it: pack the box. Just look at how many of the Patriots' runs came on first down -- and how little success they had, Maye apart.

"Where do you start rebuilding first?" With the offensive co-ordinator.
I'm tired of making excuses for thus coaching staff. How hard is it to make adjustments in game, halftime, ect. It's just painful to watch them running Into a brick wall.

Build is not built ... Most of the dead cap would be the blob Onwenu.
I did not say 'built a back half of the roster' ... I said "build a back half of the roster" .. there are a few who can play from those groups.

Dead cap is no big deal ... but it can hinder things as you know.
They are way better off spending next year ... IMO

i don't get that... he did well last year in a limited role, with covington running the dl and stevie b on the olbs... has definitely increased his snap count though... maybe thats part of the issue?
I'll just keep repeating myself. It's a team game. When individual players no longer have teammates beside them of the caliber of last year (Barmore, Bentley and even Guy as prime examples) he's the one getting schemed against and focused on. The fact that he's playing to the level is he is actually a net positive given those circumstances.

Another area where bringing in more talented players is critical
Team game. Decent OL and those three are positive contributors. Upgrades in other areas have MUCH more impact to this team's ability to compete in and win games than RB.

More "superstar at every position is only way to win" thinking.

Feels like they’re relying on him too much in his 4th start, vs guiding him and helping him along
I think on Maye's fundamentals they've done a good job - he has seemingly corrected a lot of what were mechanical issues coming out of college. That said, technically in play design and play calling - horrid. Predictable and simplistic without adjustments to take advantage of what the defense shows it is giving up.

So AVP as QB coach - sure sign me up.

As OC - sorry dude. No mas.

Keep repeating yourself. Maybe one day it will sink into the rock thats disguised as my brain

His separation on paper is off charts literally and figuratively.
