I'm convinced maye would be standing back there for 5 seconds to throw 4 yards like Brissett was. Brissett was a tackle dummy.
They couldn't even handle the pass rush from the second worst team in the league and that's with the line more or less stabilized (as much as it can be stabilized). How would they have done against some legit contending teams earlier on in the season with a rookie QB?

Jacoby was brought in to take a beating and he did just that.

Pop Douglas have been a disappointment to me, I thought he would be much better this Year. Douglas have been kinda pedestrian from the Slot. His prospects from the Slot was one of the reasons I didn't mind us passing on Ladd McConkey. Now I know we made a horrible mistake... Polk have Bust written all over him: what an abysmal player.

Maye, Gonzo, Henry. Boy do we need talent....

Pop is the only playmaker we have at WR.. Boutte flashes here and there.. I put the focus on play calling.. when the run wasn't working they kept trying to run. Do something differently AVP to loosen up the defense. All in all.
As bad as the defense was they still only gave up 20 points.

You make a good point. I feel both lines have to be revamped the D line and the O line. Adding a real #1 at WR would allow the other WRs to be better. They are struggling because they are all 3s and 4s trying to play like they are 1s.

Mac is ridiculously bad. Gutless, scared, turtles when you breathe on him. Crybaby. Weak arm. At least Trevor Lawrence didn't fumble on his first play.

Belichick was the reason that team won 10 games, not Mac for heaven's sake. You're being ridiculous

Belichick winning 10 games with Mac is probably one of his greatest accomplishments.

Every day with Mayo and Wolfe at the helm is just another wasted day in the "rebuild." The sooner we get honest about this, the better, and until we do, we are just screwing around.

I have some very easy solutions for next season.

Hire dabol as OC
Sign Higgins and slayton at WR
Trade for Sneed or Alexander at CB
Draft 2 of each LB, DT, DE
Play Marcus Jones on offense and STs only.

Those moves right there would have this team in much better shape to compete next season.

If you want a job done, are going to go with the guy who picks up his tools and sets to work, or with the guy who ****s around "collaborating" until he sorta decides what to do, announces it, then takes it back a day later. Give me a ****ing break.

That's the issue right there. I have no problem with an organization collaboration but there needs to be a separation of powers. The HC, coaching and the GM singing players. This current set up wolf, groh and Mayo all have say on the roster. I listed in my post some things the team could do next season to make themselves a contender.

9 games into his professional career. Didn't we used to say around here that it takes a season or two for WR's to develop?
Heh. I'm not sure there is a deep reservoir of expertise in this team's traditions when it comes to choosing and developing WR's. You're right, though: it does take time to develop a WR (This was particularly the case during the McDaniels/Brady years.), but it is also reasonable to expect SOME progress along the way. It is too early to give up on Polk, given his prior level of play in college, but it is not too early to express concern, both about the playe rand certainly about the people coaching him.

Polk is statistically the worse Rookie WR what has recent history taught us about WRs?? I'm going with the percentages...it doesn't bode well. I'm not optimistic about him anymore he plays clueless.

Either that or Mac's leading the team to 10 wins under Belichick's negligent "leadership" was a remarkable accomplishment.

A WR is just like a QB when it comes on to development...if they are good they are good and it will show early. If they are bad it will show early too I'm going with the latter on Polk. We have some misfits at positional Coaching no hope for him there.

Definitely some hero ball going on with him..... But I can't possibly blame him for that when he is getting no help from anywhere else. Maye is the team right now and he is the only reason we even had a chance to win today. Flaws and all.
I really don't understand the negative comments about Maye. All rookie QB's make mistakes as they learn. Patrick Mahomes would demonstrate flaws playing on this offense executing the same game plan. We laugh at other teams ruining rookie QB's by rushing them onto the field when they don't have talent around them. The rest of the players are playing in a way that forces Maye to try to do too much which is one of the things he needs to work on.

What we have now is not "collaboration": it is a situation in which a bunch a guys form a circle for the purpose of covering one another's asses, while the rookie quarterback does all the work,

I said we are 15 players away and that's being kind...and people are looking at me like I have four heads.
