So what did we learn Today?? J Hasty is a decent Third Down RB and I quote "Receiving Back" because he can't run for **** ditto Gibby. Also Mayo should just come out and tell Polk that he's soft every play to him is a negative. I said after last weeks Game Mayo please Bench J Polk. What do I know that's why RK pays Mayo the Big bucks.

As someone posted, it's very unlikely there will be any GM or HC changes till at least after year 2. That said, I'm disappointed in Mayo's articulation to the media so far. He says confusing, sometimes self-contradictory things, and says too much. Not as savvy as I expected, and being the team spokesman is one of the most important roles a HC plays. Also he should have made the move to Maye a week sooner, and he should have kicked the extra point with 7 minutes left today (both big errors).

On the other hand he's been dealt a bad hand with injuries & other absences. The heart of the D is out, and most of the OL is out. Run D and run blocking have gone completely awol. If we start getting some guys back, hopefully things will stabilize a bit. The QB situation is very encouraging at least.
It’s troublesome to me that he seems to speak publicly the way he speaks the team and it’s just weird if cliches and catch phrases.

Bedard made a great point today. We were soft against Miami. They ran all over us and shouldn’t against any team, with that qb. Bedard says Mayo said we are tough and we played hard and they only scored 15 points (acting like a fan rationalizing per Bedard). And that game was his opportunity to deal with the team being soft and it took him 3 more beatings and then he publicly threw them under the bus.

He’s made comments like the best guy plays, and not adhered to it.
When rhamondre fumbled 4 games in a row he said when asked if 38 would be benched “I say call security is job security all the time so I have to do something” and didn’t bench brissett for fumbling 3 times and throwing a pick 6.
Last week he said there would be lineup changes because players can’t do what they’ve been doing and I noticed none.

He seems like he is managing to cliches that he has no conviction in.

What’s the deal with Peppers, hasn’t the league had enough time to determine whether he’s at fault or not?

Team could really use his physicality and toughness right about now.

Did both guys decline HC interviews last year? I cannot seem to remember and don't want to look it up. If know one else wants to look it up I will later.
Yeah I think they both passed but I can see either wanting to Coach Maye...it will be Krafts move.

There is no hope in Polk....
Right now, no, but with a lot of work he could be ok. He has the basic skill set , he just seems not close to NFL ready.
I’d demote him to WR 4 and include him in certain packages and let him get 8-10 reps a game and work him hard in practice.

This!

Not being able to stop the run today wasn't coaching scheme - it was excellent OL play by the Jags and a talent deficit (on the DL and particularly at LB) by the Pats. Excellent double teams on our DL, and our LBs weren't able to cover. Turns out we were very thin behind Bentley plus Peppers, and of course we are missing the two best DL men from last year.

I’m disgusted by Polk.
He needs to figure his issues out asap or he going to be out of this league soon.

Maye is getting better every week.

Defense run stop has been trash. Either our D linemen or linebackers are trash or the coaching is super trash. I don’t know how they let everyone run wild on em…

We haven’t played the run well all year. Getting run on 29 of 30 plays and allowing them to walk down the field is bad coaching and unmotivated players.

Mayo reminds me a lot of Robert Saleh who would do similar things. Like no reason to make the statements. Saleh would take victory laps after beating bottom of the barrel teams too. We'll have to see wins against these basement teams to see where Mayo lands on that particular spectrum though.

Didn't we Pay Devon Gawd who's supposedly good against the Run Allegedly.

Patriots line on both sides of the ball FAILED. We couldn't run the ball productively. And we got gashed on the ground.

As it stands biggest needs are LT, DT, and WR in that order now. I know I would love a stud wideout but we need that Left Tackle to stabilize the line desperately first.

Other than that Maye had a very efficient day, 70% completion rate, 2 passing TDs with no interceptions and a 111 passer rating. Considering that he is working with scraps, I'd call it another step in the right direction.

But you are on a 4th round draft choice next year?
Not crazy about that idea either. Guess we'll see how what the tree shakes out. I suppose at this point, and for Maye's sake, we're all just hoping something turns into a decent OL next season. I have no idea how it'll get done though.

Sure but loo what is surrounding him.

Ekuale could be the worst run defending starting DT in the NFL. Friends U guy was so bad he was inactive so we could play a guy named Jacquelin and 2 other waiver claims. McMillan stinks and he was replaced by Ellis who is a usfl caliber LB. Uche has been playing on running downs. Today Jennings was playing DE in a 3 man line. The schemes are bad, the depth is poor and we have role players playing full time and practice squad caliber guys subbing for them.
This is 70% on Wolf and 30% on coaches. And of course the players but the quality of the roster is on wolf and scheming a defense is in the coaches.
