He is right.

You need 2 TDs ASSUMING you get the 2 point conversion.

If you take 1 on the first one you are playing for one score. If you score and miss the 2, you lose.

If you take the 2 point try on the first score, you now have the knowledge of whether you made it and need 1 score or missed it and need 2.

In the event you make the 2 it was irrelevant which score you got it on.

In the event you miss the 2 if you do it on the first score now you know in this case with 9 minutes left that you actually need 2 more scores.

There is no advantage to forestalling it.

If you are down 9 with 9 minutes left you play very differently than if you are down 7.
Settling fir being down 7 means you don’t have the benefit if knowing that info.
That is flat out wrong at least for this team. We're going to stop the Jags twice and score twice, in 7 minutes?? On what planet? That's the situation we put ourselves in by trying for 2 and failing.

If we take the 1 point, we're only down 8 and can play for 1 score. And that's the way it played out. We got that 1 stop and would have been driving for a tying TD & 2 pt conversion, instead of being down by 9 and out of the game.

and if they can't are you just going to claim that Kraft is cheap?
Probably because they surely can spend the money if they want to. But Kraft has always been cheap. Bb had enough cache to make him spend to the cap but cash spending has been near the bottom pretty consistently.
Is it wrong to point that out?

And yet the fans are handing over their money to Kraft and have done so long before he bought the team, and instead of investing in a real GM, HC, and Staff, this is how we're repaid?

A lot of people are hell bent on leaving a paper trail on how much they don't want Maye playing and how it's going to ruin his development.

Let it go. He already proved every one of you wrong.
We want to be entertained.

No my argument in April was that we should take fields as starting QB and take MHJ in the draft.

I have no problem with Maye starting given the situation we’re in. What I wanted for us to not be in the situation of needing to start him. They are completely different things, if you search my posts I was calling for Maye to start the last couple weeks as well.

Now, do I think he was that impressive today? No but people get really upset about that by the looks of it, everyone is desperate for him to be a huge hit and jumping the gun.

As for your comments about Mac, I’m talking about the general opinion of him in his first year so you can take your judgement to the entire patsnation who rated him. However, I will go for it and say no I don’t think Maye has actually done anything better than season 1 Mac yet. I expect he’ll turn out better but go have a field day with that comment.

If it helps I also think Caleb Williams is being massively overrated so far. People are so desperate to hype up QB’s as the next Brady/mahomes it’s honestly hilarious.
When you can get the QB you have to. Fields isn’t the answer and is either gone after a year or you are paying him 30 mill to not be the guy.

We don’t NEED to start him, starting him is what is best for him.

He played fine today and is showing every indication he can be the franchise qb we were looking for at #3.

I dint really huge a crap about how you think people rated him. Why would we waste time discussing something people were wrong about?
Like I said if you watched jones play and have watched Mayr play and don’t see a difference you don’t know what you are looking at. It’s blatantly obvious to those that do.

I’m not sure where you see “desperation” in “hyping” but it seems to be clouding your vision. An objective analysis of Maye in his first 2 NFL games is 100% encouraging about where he is so far and where he can go.

In actuality they went to a bunch of screens in the second period that were executed horribly and the motion they had led to a penalty (and then the usual motioner puking his guts and sitting out for a while). Not saying that the OC doesn't have culpability here, but this particular call out of play types not being called is inaccurate.

I agree. Yes, there were a lot of failed screens, but we see less and less screens as the year progresses. I think the best screen play for the 2024 season was the 5 yard screen to Osborn today. I should have said "successful screen play". The point is that the coaching stinks beause it is game 7 and the offense can not even run a successful screen play.

Unfortunately, in 2025 draft there are no “generationsl” cant miss picks like Williams and Daniels this year
So trade value of top pick wont be high

We will be fighting it out with Briwns and Panthers for top pick
*Ahem* Maye says hello Sam... He has more yards and TD's in Two Games than Brissett in Four.

That’s not the deal though. He doesn’t owe you anything. That’s why he pretends to be “the steward of the team for the fans”. What people try hardest to tell you they are is exactly what they aren’t and covers over what they think you wouldn’t like about them.
How many changes that we’re bad for you has your employer made over the years and spun them as what’s best for you? It’s almost required behavior when dealing with groups who rely on you.

And your money for tickets or gear or whatever doesn’t buy you the right to demand anything. If you stop showing up someone else will. The season ticket holder waiting list is thousands deep. Until that changes, he won’t, but all of his rhetoric is to convince you it’s not his fault, he’s one of you doing his best for you

I'm hopeful that Jonathan is actually running the important decisions and Robert is just allowed to be the face of things while he's still alive to boost his HOF chances. Although lately I don't think it's helping him.
Bob has spoken at length about Mayo being his call and how he (alone) decided it in 2019.

RK wanted to look nice to his progressive billionaire friends. A white coach sucking up to him wouldn’t have mattered. Don’t you see that?
Pats suck because of DEI. Okay, excellent take.

As someone posted, it's very unlikely there will be any GM or HC changes till at least after year 2. That said, I'm disappointed in Mayo's articulation to the media so far. He says confusing, sometimes self-contradictory things, and says too much. Not as savvy as I expected, and being the team spokesman is one of the most important roles a HC plays. Also he should have made the move to Maye a week sooner, and he should have kicked the extra point with 7 minutes left today (both big errors).

On the other hand he's been dealt a bad hand with injuries & other absences. The heart of the D is out, and most of the OL is out. Run D and run blocking have gone completely awol. If we start getting some guys back, hopefully things will stabilize a bit. The QB situation is very encouraging at least.

You said you don’t agree then posted a blank reply. What do you not agree with?

Maye is not even remotely a part of the many problems we have here….he is right on track and overall played better this week than last. He was arguably the ONLY bright spot today out there….Henry looked good….Pop early then got sick….thats about it! Hard for Maye especially as a rookie to play behind a ****bag OL and make some big long distance throws happen. But I think he did a great job with what he had to work with and a pop warner minded offensive coordinator and WR that either can’t get open at all or drop every pass or fall down! Maye did great and I’m excited about his future here!
I'm excited about Maye. The rest? Not so much.
