The Brady > Mahomes thread - It's not even close

I saw Brady's entire career. Mahomes at this point is better than Brady was and if he does this for another decade regardless of the ring count he will be better.

Also, Rodgers choking in playoffs is fiction. His defenses gave up an average of 33 points in his playoff losses. Compare that with Brady.

He choked maybe once in 2022 against the niners but still did enough to win. It was a special teams disaster that cost GB the game.

It's asinine to think the QB with the 6th highest postseason passer rating in NFL history is some postseason failure, and people seem to keep discounting that his 5 best seasons of his career are, on average, statistically better than pretty much any other QB's best 5-season average across the history of the league.

Mahomes certainly has surpassed Rodgers as the most talented QB of all time.

The rings argument is stupid in basketball when it's one of five. It's even more stupid in football where it's 1 guy out 22.

The chiefs D gave up like the third most penalties in Super Bowl history in SB55 and Mahomes had a third string o line to work with. That game was not very telling of any skill gap between the QB’s. That game is a perfect example of why rings are a bad metric. Brady played ok he didn't light the world on fire, his defense did a lot. Mahomes had a superhuman performance but his entire team refused to help him.

Mahomes was running for his life that whole game. The Chiefs entire OL was hurt. Brady would have been on his ass near the entire game like he was in the 2016 AFCCG vs Broncos if the teams were reversed.
Better at what exactly? Backyard football? Stronger arm? But other than that there's more to a QB than athletic ability. TB is better at reading defenses, his pocket presence is GOATed, his pocket mobility nobody was better and you're obviously forgetting the clutch factor. Never blown out in the superbowl and on the ones he lost he gave the team the lead with little time. Mahomes may end up being greater he has the potential, but as of now he has a long way to go.

Rodgers hahaha he's the biggest fraud out there. Passing rating is a horrible stat to bring up specially when it comes to Rodgers he cares so much about his INT/TD ratio he doesn't have the balls to throw the must have it pass to avoid throwing a pick. He choked big time three times vs Seattle in 14, vs the ironically the Brady Bucs in 20(remember the Packers D gave him the turnovers ) and of course the 22 vs the 49ers.

Ring argument is not stupid when Tom also has the stats and all the Superbowl and Postseason relevant records.

Mahomes play in SB 55 was horrible. He didn't take the short stuff that was wide open all game long instead he kept trying to go down field.TB and the offense scored on every possession in the 1st half and the TD in the 2nd half that they didn't need to risk anything since the Chiefs offense went desperate mode. If the Mahomes of today played that game again the game would have been closer since this one actually takes the short stuff. Part of learning as the years go by.

He's been mediocre this season too and honestly since November of last year as well. KC hasn't scored more than 30 pts since then and even the postseason run wasn't that great either besides that Superbowl overtime drive. He was shutout the whole second half of the AFCCG and if it wasn't for the 49ers muffled punt probably would lost the SB as well. Look as I said Kermit has the potential to be the GOAT he has no competition Burrow/Allen and Jackson are frauds. Not his fault you play who you play, but as of now let his career play out first and see what happens. He's great I have him just below Montana but he needs two more 7 yead career arcs like he had to match Tom lol

Here is the end of this Thread: If Mahomes gets his Team to 9 SB's and wins 6 (with the same Team), and then at least ties Brady with a 7th SB (even with another Team), then and only then can the discussion even begin.

3 of Brady's Superbowl win's have asterisks next to them due to spygate. We cannot underplay the competitive advantage it gave to the Patriot's. Cheating should not be rewarded. Sure, Bill and Ernie Adams were the architects of it, but it still gave Brady and his team a competitive advantage. They literally brought the game into disrepute.

Belichick should have been suspended for the entire season, but he wasn't due to Kraft's close relationship with Goodell at the time.

Mahomes certainly has surpassed Rodgers as the most talented QB of all time. An athlete in every sense of the word, not just a pocket passer. More than a dual threat.

Congratulations you must be the only person on this site that saw Brady’s entire career.

As far as Rodgers goes, the greatest regular season QB in history. Even reporters that have idolized him and deemed him the greatest ever after his one and only Super Bowl are admitting that if it doesn’t end well with the Jets he would’ve had rewritten his career and what people thought of him.

Fair or not no other position in team sports is judged by championships than the QB position.

Anyone think KC has a chance of going undefeated? Toughest games are Texans & Bills. Win those two...I'm not seeing a loss on the schedule.

I've found comparing QB's is impossible to do lately. Do we compare just titles? Stats? How it/he looks? Which QB faced tougher competition? Who had better teammates? Importance of Regular season accolades?

Shannon Sharpe once said: "I'd want Mahomes for 58 minutes. I'd take Brady for the last two minutes." I'm unsure exactly what that all means. But it's what he said.
Do they have a chance, I think they have a chance especially if the offense gets gets it going. It s not the Texans, Bills or 49ers games that should be the concern, it should be games that seem like they should be a win.

I remember Bruschi saying once that once they got close the amount of pressure around the them to finish undefeated just kept growing. As of now the press has really started harping on it. At some point they will. If their objective is three peat it might be better for them to have a loss or two heading into the playoffs.

I agree with that. Brady excels, especially when it comes to the mental aspect of the game.

Brady excels at everything. Brady > Mahomes and it’s not close, as the title says.

Shouldn’t you be padding your 6000 troll posts on the Broncos board? 10k is way more impressive.

I think Marino's 84 season is the greatest regular season ever completed. He came into the league and threw for over 5000 yards and 48 tds. 5084yds and 48 TD's would be like 6000yds and 60+TD's today.

In that era, it’s just insane, with no protection for the QBs and the game favored defenses back then. It’s the greatest season by a quarterback in NFL history if you ask me, just amazing. Rocket sling shot arm. In my eyes hands, down the greatest arm talent in NFL history.

Who torched the greatest defense in NFL history?

I cannot imagine what he would do in today's NFL.

Three of Mahomes' Superbowl wins have asterisks due to Fellatiogate (the bending of rules and rigging of games in favor of the Chiefs).

It's just as valid an argument, based on speculation and exaggeration.

Adjusted for today's statistical framework, Montana's 1989 season actually surpasses Marino. If I recall, that was a Top 5 season, though.

It is amazing that Marino never made it back to another Super Bowl. I hope that kept Shula up at night thinking about it. Marino would lose his cool sometimes really bad, I remember Bruce Smith saying they made a point of hitting Marino early even if they took a penalty for it. Not just Marino, there are lots of QB’s that would be lighting it up no.

You keep telling yourself that and maybe some day it will actually happen, maybe you can tap your shoes together three times like Dorothy did.

Fouts passed for over 2800 yards in a strike shortened 9 games in 82. That's impressive.

I felt bad for that Chargers team when the AFC Championship game was in Cincinnati and temperature was 59 below with windchill factored in, they didn’t have a chance.

I remember around the end of the 2022 season everyone was talking about how Mahomes was going to destroy Brady’s regular season career passing records and throw for around 95,000-100,000 yards and 700-800 TDs

last 2 seasons showing it isn’t that simple lmao. not to mention there’s a good chance he’ll be retired by the time he’s 40
