Trade Time

Why do you think they are both not getting playing time? Poor evaluation or poor performance in practice? It has to be one or the other, right? Word is Baker can't even line up correctly and keeps running the wrong routes. And Thorton can't get on the field despite our below average receiver core. I guess you could make the argument that the type of routes that should be Thorton's bread & butter aren't available because the OL can't protect long enough for the play and QB couldn't make the throws anyway.
I don't know that to be the case with baker. WRs learn how to run routes in HS.. so I just believe with baker he's in the dog house and thar situation at logan didn't help him. He's to talented to not be on the field it's very frustrating not to see a talented WR out there growing with Drake. Tyquan should be out there with Drake. We have a qb wo can challenge every part of the field now .

It's said J Baker wasn't lining up correctly so that's a remembering the playbook issue. Hopefully he was making a mental note during those healthy scratches.

Yeah.. it's funny becuase he lining up correctly during camp and preseason but suddenly AVP says isn't. Hard for me to accept that. It's something else.

Javon is known to run his mouth a bit mouthing off probably.

That what I believe it is. Immaturity issues. His abilities are undeniable.
I know Talent wise right now he's better than every WR on the current Roster not named Pop Douglas.

players going out;
Strange has zero trade value until he is on the field and showing health. AFter the season, I believe he is a free agent, no? have to think he has extremely limited market for maybe half a season.
Sow had shown last season he has good upside, and won the LG spot in camp. is he in the dog house? still injured?
TT has had 3 seasons to show anything. he hasn't been able to. wouldn't he have PS eligibility?
Osborn might be useful if someone injures, but right now Boutte, Bourne, Polk, Pop are getting snaps. rightfully so.

players coming in;
the Browns have announced they are open for business. Will they make Wills or Conklin available? are they worth a 3rd? both are seemingly healthy, not playing a lot, and are contract situations the Browns may want to exit.
Strange is under contract next season. Every player is eligible for the practice squad, but they’d have to clear waivers first.

Browns fans hate Wills and would gladly give him away for free. Less animosity and more frustration about injuries with Conklin. This past weekend is the only film we have since his knee exploded 13 months ago (torn ACL, MCL, PCL, and meniscus), and he was okay but not good enough to really make any conclusions about whether he’s going to make it back to full health ever again and be worth having on the 2025 roster at his current salary.

He is. And with Tyquan being inactive you would have thought baker would make an appearance. I just think it's maturity related things with him.

Well it's been weeks now and we have many Needs going into 2025 FA and the Draft. We need to know what we have so we can address the real positions of Need.

Yes. If say LT, DT, LB, CB and # 1 WR in FA. Becuase I don't think that guy is there in the draft. Now we could end up having a pretty good WR corps with polk, pop, Boutte and baker. But right now seems like polk, pop and Boutte are the main guys. While KB is getting up to speed.

Then why draft him at all? His lack of maturity was known beforehand. This isn't a surprise. It is difficult to succeed at the NFL level. Even elite players lose a step and are gone from the league. But you draft a guy with at best good physical tools but with known maturity problems, which he manifested right away in the preseason when he showed up with his entourage? The Patriots are beyond stupid as an organization.

I can't figure it out. It's a mystery to me with baker. I'm not going to accept he can't line up correctly guys been lining up since pop Warner. It's just another mystery. The most physically talented WR we have and he can't get on the field.

Force I know it's already been discussed but I will say this if BB Drafted either of those guys Below Brady would have finished his career here and we probably win another SB or two. Teams Draft Guys who are full of themselves all the time and some of those guys are really good I would take them over choir boys sections N Harry and T Thornton 24/7.

As Bentley is on IR and after last weeks debacle on Defense should the Pats try to pursue Devin White if his injuries are not prohibitive??
OTOH see other teams trying to get better Adams to the Jets and Cooper to the BIlls, the Pats look like they are asleep at the wheel.. again.
There isn't much point in trying to salvage this season, other than getting serviceable OL players. If there are players available who will also be under contract next season, that's a different matter.

Definitely Baker is being prepared for the most important part of the season - playoffs games. Very smart Van Pelt's decision.

The future isn't now.
Absolutely agree. I think we have a find with Benny brown. But every where else on the OL need revamp. Mike Williams is available from the Jets I hear they may just release him if they can't find a trade partner.
Why do we need to revamp the guards?

The future isn't now.
With $36 million in cap space and no relief on the horizon they should not try to get better??
Then next year there is something like $136 million in cap space....

I have difficulty in not trying to get better, after last week crap show against the run the reality of losing Bentley has finally hit home.
Now ever team will try to exploit that weakness, the Pats have $36 million cap space right now and $136 million next year. Do something instead of being vague and inspirational.

Would you Trade a Fifth for OT Cam Robinson if we can secure him before FA?? I sure would.
