Not even 140 yards passing per game, 5.2 YPA, 74 rating, 17 sacks

"Better than average"
The Patriots rank second in the entire league in sacks chuckles... stop making a fool of yourself.

Lol and I assume a lot? Maye got sacked twice on 8 passing attempts the last game he played.

Maybe we should see him play first?
8 passing attempts is a perfect sample size

No vet receiver looks at an unproven rookie as an incentive... they want to play with a sure thing.

Calm down buddy, you're shooting your load prematurely...
Well as usual your shooting your mouth off prematurely... the allure is Drake and seeing him grow besides of we traded for him he likely would have to agree to an extension. LOL

Because Adams has to agree to a new contract and there is zero incentive for him to do so.

Technically, he doesn't. He has a monster $35 million base salary each of the next two years, but the Pats have plenty of cap space. Doubtful they would trade for him without a new contract, but they could do it if they wanted.

Brissett also has the 29th highest passer rating in the league among qualified passers. "Better than average" or something.

Last year is a perfect argument against that it is the best. Maye regressed last year. He developed bad habits last year. He was far better in 2022 than 2023.
No he didn't, that's completely untrue.

If Maye's mobility was going to prevent him from getting sacked why didn't it work the last time he played?

Good grief...

He LEARNED. He EXPERIENCED pressure, and by playing learned how to deal with it.
He wouldn’t learn that on the bench. So that flaw in his game would still be there if he hadn’t played through it.

He also regressed to the point that he was a back up for several years and was on four teams in three years.

Leverett was the biggest problem last week would probably still be too soon and asking a lot of Strange if he could be ready to start at Center.
I just don’t think Strange with the same body measurements as Matt Light is a Center.

I'd take Zappe over Brissett.. give poor wozzy a break he missed his last eye doctor appointment.

Intentionally tanking by not throwing our raw #3 pick behind a joke of an OL to get slaughtered? Seriously? We don't have Aaron Rodgers on the bench. You can't be serious.
I wish we did have Rodgers on the bench so we could put him behind this OL and let him get killed. Figuratively, of course.

Brisset has the highest sack percentage and lowest QB Rating of his nine year career.

Learn how "team" works and you won't have to rely on hero worshipping notions like "QB magic."

I wonder if Maye plays fairly well, how many problems with the play calling and o-line disappear. Brissett's play could play a roll in all the suckage on the offense.

That said, I don't think that is a reason to rush Maye into the line up.

And I just don't think the Peppers thing is playing all that much around the NFL. I don't see anything down here in NC. I wouldn't even know about if I didn't follow Boston local media.
This is my hope. I hope that Jacoby's hesitance to throw the ball when he has a guy open is a big part of what is holding this offense back and that with Maye out there he will pull the trigger. The "all 22" guys are saying that guys are getting open so it seems that Jacoby is just hypersensitive to turning the ball over so he won't/can't make some of the throws that need to be made. He then seems to start to scramble around in the pocket and from there the line collapses and he's sacked or throwing out of a sack. Maybe Maye's confidence in his arm and added athleticism can at least bump this offense up to competent. I know there will be some rookie mistakes and turnovers but at this point what is the difference? I would rather lose 28-24 with 2 or 3 turnovers than lose 15-10 playing hyper conservative.

And that isn't what I'd call "better than average"

Yes except if it's Mac Jones then he's the worst ever and it's all his fault a Super Bowl team finished 4-13. Lol

Look at the numbers. Better completion percentage, TD%, INT%, 12 more TD, higher passer rating.

I believe one of the things that he had going for him when he was drafted was he could potentially play all 3 tackle, guard, or center.

He probably goes back in at LG or as a backup as it a lot to expect him to learn a new position coming off injury but I'd be willing to try either LT or C.
