Mayo said to WEEI that he was planning on meeting with his staff.. this was yesterday.. I think this was organizational decision.
Organizational decision... nobody is responsible, everybody is responsible, collaboration... ultimately it will be Mayo's neck when the axe falls.

I'm hopeful Maye will look better.

He was always a better passer, it was the huddle and pre-snap that needed work. If he tightened that stuff up, it can only look better.
I agree with you. It was getting old mayo kept saying Brissett giving us the best chance to win. I feel so energized as a fan right now just knowing that is has to look better... I would even say this.. why not trade for Adams for Maye to throw too??

They probably did, but they suck.

It certainly worked with Sam Darnold in NY. The guy was seeing ghosts with the Jets and exposed him as a dog QB and the Vikings are learning the hard way that they should have never made Darnold their starting QB. Absolute garbage.

Ok well he wouldn't be the first coach to fail in NE.

I doubt this has anything to do with Peppers. If they are rushing him into the line up before he is ready, it is solely because the offense is crap and largely because of Brissett. An average QB would have won on Sunday. A below average QB would have won on Sunday.

I am excited to see Maye play, but I am more excited (or more hopeful) that I am watching him starting for the Pats in 2034 and competing for Super Bowls. And I am willing to sacrifice any excitement this year for this.
I agree long term this isn't the time to throw him in but there really isn't going to be a good time this year. The OC is clueless, the offensive line is a bunch of turnstiles, and there is no alpha dog to throw to. I don't want to lose an entire season of development/evaluation waiting for the right time. They need to get him in there no since things aren't getting any better.

As far as burying the Peppers news I wouldn't put it past them with how PR conscious the Kraft's are. The losing, the whole "mutiny" story, and then an arrest? There may have been a nudge from above to change the narrative.

I'd take him for 4th or less

Is Sow healthy? I hope the line is Lowe-Sow-Leverett-Onwenu-Jacobs.

It actually did because he is playing well now.
If he hasn’t played then, he’d be seeing ghosts now. See how that works? If you aren’t ready, you get ready by playing.

Like you assumed Brissett was an "above average QB"?
Wozzy likes to assume alot of things.. LOL at least mayo realized after 5 weeks he needed a QB and not 4 years

I wonder if Maye plays fairly well, how many problems with the play calling and o-line disappear. Brissett's play could play a roll in all the suckage on the offense.

That said, I don't think that is a reason to rush Maye into the line up.

And I just don't think the Peppers thing is playing all that much around the NFL. I don't see anything down here in NC. I wouldn't even know about if I didn't follow Boston local media.

Question? Would you trade for adams now??
What’s his contract? If it’s for this year only, no. I don’t want Maye forcing throws then the guy isn’t here next year.

It’s all about Maye developing. Part of developing is hard knocks.

Because Adams has to agree to a new contract and there is zero incentive for him to do so.

Sow was benched for Jordan last week.
