They just paid him this off season. It's going to be tough to get out of it unless there's some personal conduct clause or something.

If it is determined that what he's done warrants punishment from the NFL and there's a conduct clause in his contract (if there isn't, that's malpractice on the part of ownership), then they should be able to cut him loose and not have his contract on their cap (or at least the vast majority of it).

He could also be put on the commissioner's exempt list - that wouldn't count against the roster right?

In the back of my mind, I expected such things to raise their heads (but hoped they wouldn't). We saw all kinds of dysfunction back in the late 80's through early 90's). And it's not just this Team as we've seen it when other Teams have hit or were getting to close to hitting rock-bottom. I guess we'll just wait and see where this goes. Is it an isolated incident, or will this become more the rule than the exception?

That's a good question. I don't know, although I trust that someone on here will be able to answer that.

If we assume his lawyer is telling the truth (I know that's a YUGE assUmuption), maybe Peppers has a video.

I've long said that these guys are nuts if they don't have clandestine internal video in their homes to counter these types of allegations. Maybe Peppers was smart enough to do this. Still there is the cocaine, unless the video has the woman choking herself while saying "and I'm going to plant this cocaine here for the cops to find" it doesn't look good for Peppers.
