Does anyone think there is a chance Mayo is one and done?

He never should have been made HC to begin with (I've stated so when his hiring was announced). He and AVP need to go after this Season (and perhaps E.W. too). And they should NOT play Maye this Season (and that was before Andrews went out). They need to admit that outside of drafting Maye (and possibly Polk), they made mistakes (hiring Mayo and such). The sooner the mistakes are corrected, the sooner the rebuild can bring positive results. They need a competent HC and the rest of the coaching staff (although OL Coach and ST Coordinator seem to be good, and I'm not down on Covington).

I could see AVP getting sacrificed for sure.

Mayo SHOULD be on the table to replace, say, if there is basically open mutiny and players obviously don’t respect him (the Polk/Douglas stuff could be early signs of that)…but that would require Kraft to admit he badly botched the hire and I don’t see that happening.
I wonder if there are HC candidates who see the Krafts as people they wouldn’t want to work for?

Mike Vrabel is still out there though.

Can fans either not show up to the game this week or show up with bags on their heads.

Thank you.

Wearing Dolphins Colors would equally help as well.

While I disagree with everything on the process of how Mayo ingratiated himself to Kraft to land his first coaching gig and then his ascension to HC... There's nothing to be done about it now, and Bob is more likely to release another documentary blaming BB than he is to fire Mayo.

How many of these hirings and draft picks have Jonathan’s fingerprints on them?

I think there's always a chance, because we've seen teams fire a guy after one season, even when he's taken over a bad team to begin with. It just takes an especially brutal season, and there probably needs to be rumblings that the locker room is already lost. So if that happens, Mayo could be one and done. But I don't personally see it happening. Kraft doesn't strike me as the reactionary type. He's going to give Wolf/Mayo at least two years: Year one to reset and establish a baseline, year two to show improvement of some kind. If they show no improvement at all in year 2, the leash is gonna get real short.

Someone to look at is Dan Campbell. He took over a traditionally very bad Lions team. They were 5-11 the year before he was hired. In his first year, they got WORSE, going 3-13-1. Then 9-8. Then 12-5 and in the NFCCG.

It looks bad right now, and it may continue to be. But year one has to be the program reset year. If there's no improvement in year two, you re-evaluate.

McDaniels is the obvious choice, but he is going wherever Belichick goes.
Same with Matty P and possibly Nicholas Saban.

Perhaps Saban is the new Ernie Adams.

If Bill was a HC and had a successful season while Mayo wins 3-4 to games with players mouthing off like they are, then I'd say it would've been more likely. Bob doesn't like looking bad.

This was what Bob wanted. He didn't want to let a 6 time SB winning HC try and rebuild again, but wants to take a risk with an inexperienced coach who isn't known for anything? Okay. Solid plan.

Here we are 4 weeks into the season and the question is already being asked of whether he should stay as the HC. I'm not surprised.

I’m thinking BB would never work under the Krafts again, even if he was willing to give up GM duties.

Does it seem that BB was less than happy here since before Brady left?
BB brought a lot of it on himself having no viable plan after Brady. He got Cam in the 11th hour, but fielded no offense around him whatsoever. Cam could have easily broken Grogans rushing TD record, but BB held him back. The whole season was crazy and then Brady won the Super Bowl.

Kraft was livid because BB told him that Brady was near the end of his shelf life. That in term allowed Kraft to seize some power away from BB.

This was don't know for sure. Bob is always finding excuses or looking to throw someone under the bus. If Tom wanted to stay, he couldn't easily told Bill that he'd pay up. I don't think Bill would've thrown a fit over that.

But, the latest that came out was Brian Hoyer recently said Tom told him to be ready to play unless the Pats reworked his contract so they couldn't Franchise Tag him after the 2019 season. Tom was preparing to sit out the 2019 season. He wanted out.

I truly doubt it. I think Kraft will be patient until he can't be patient anymore. So much needs to happen before they could make a decision on Mayo, AVP or any of the others.

First off, we need to see Maye. If he struggles as badly as Brissett, there's a good chance AVP is gone. If they decide the oline was always going to sink this year, but Maye shows enough, they probably all get another year and Wolf gets orders to prioritize the line in the offseason. If Maye comes in and struggles and the defense gets worse with leaders openly questioning coaching, it's entirely possible Mayo goes.

I keep looking at the Texans and how they turned things around. They went through two head coaches that got a year each. If Wolf starts badmouthing Mayo or Mayo starts badmouthing Wolf, we could definitely see that happen here.
Unfortunately I am starting to feel like there may be some finger pointing starting to happen behind the scenes about who is at fault. Maybe I am reading into it too much but Mayo's "head coach of the offense" comment and his recent comments about needing to get the ball out quicker read to me like a subtle "don't look at me" when it comes to the offensive struggles. When things start going sideways people start getting protective and I have to assume there is some second guessing about the tackle position which would have fingers pointed at Wolfe too.

In reality I agree with most in this thread that AVP would likely be the first head to roll if changes are made but I just don't like that we were told Mayo is a "leader of men" type and now the men he's leading seem to be changing direction. Not saying I want him fired but I just wish he would present a more cohesive public perception with the staff as a whole instead of saying one thing and backtracking or saying something that could seem like finger pointing.

The lack of hierarchy is really going to be a problem for this team. There’s a coach of the offense. There’s a head coach. There’s a GM. And none of them report to each other. So no one football person is in charge. They all report to ownership. So it’s inevitable they’re all going to start pointing fingers at each other.

I think Dan Campbell is a great comp. More of a "culture" rah rah type instead of an X's and O's type. What worries me about that comp is I don’t think he's a great coach. I think his players probably like him because he's a former player hardo but mainly because theyre winning. The main reason they're winning in my opinion is because of Ben Johnson. Johnson tailored an offense to Jared Goff's strengths and now has that offense firing on all cylinders. I don’t think Campbell is a terrible coach I just think he is able to do what he is best at because he has a strong staff and GM. Mayo on the other hand has an OC who was probably the 4th or 5th choice as well as a first time DC and brand new GM. Maybe they all grow together and turn things around like Detroit has but someone on this staff needs to prove to be the guy.
