Sounds like Bourne is close to return. Even at 1-year's rust, he should be better than Osborn.
I can't really knock the rest of the WR's - with film review there were so many open guys that JB just can't see.
Although I don't know why Baker isn't getting a try.

With all the OL issues and injuries, I think Strange really could be a big boost.
Not necessarily at LG (if Sow locks that down) But literally anywhere else.
I mean, we may actually need him at Center if Leverett struggles, or as the backup.
But, I think he'd be a steady presence at RG the way Robinson keeps getting beat.
I still don't know why they won't move Mike back in to RG. Can Strange play RT?

We had the luxury of sitting Maye for the month that you suggest. That month is over.
I posted somewhere else that sitting him longer than a month doesn't seem like it will add any benefit. Especially with no school, he has had enough time to know the playbook and through film study should be better able to recognize more exotic looks from defenses.

Dude was already smart so from a "school education" standpoint so now he needs that OJT to bring the education to function.

Austin, Wilson.. haven't been good this season. Remember I was a Austin fan.. I guess suck it's a bit harsh. The back ups haven't done much
This is what we're talking about: There is more talent out there this year but they are performing worse than last year.

Last year: Myles Bryant, Shawn Wade, Alex Austin, Jon Jones for 3/4 of the year, Jalen Mills, Peppers, Dugger

This year: Gonzalez, Marcus Jones, Jon Jones, Marco Wilson, Alex Austin, Hawkins, Peppers, Dugger

How does that help us this year?

Austin hasn't played well.

In any case, he is now on IR.
Im not sure why this is difficult to grasp. We had a lot less talent on the field last year and performed much better.

We've added Gonzo, Marcus Jones, Marco Wilson, and Jaylinn Hawkins, and are somehow worse.

The first two have been excellent.

Do we really miss Myles Bryant, Shaun Wade and Jalen Mills that much?

I wonder why that could be?

BB was a huge loss but Barmore and Bentley are bigger losses than Judon and Gonzo last year, imo. The pressure up the middle causes more havoc than outside pass rush. A QB can step up in the pocket to avoid the outside pass rush, when there is pressure up the middle it completely disrupts timing in the passing game and doesn't always allow the QB to step into the throw.

Miamis best pass rusher Phillips looks to be out with a significant injury, even more reason to start Maye next week.

If you saw the Miami game tonight… this is an easy win. They got stomped on at home by the freaking Titans despite Will Levis throwing a pick and then injuring himself in the first quarter by diving for the pylon and landing on his throwing shoulder for no reason. They were dominated by Mason Rudolph handing off to his two RBs Pollard and Spears all day. Huntley looked atrociously bad. Tyreek was screaming at everyone on the sideline. Mike McDaniel just stared into the void not speaking or moving all night. Then Phillips got hurt. That team is a train wreck

1) The secondary look better with better Defense up front. It is major to be missing Barmore and Bentley.
2) This secondary will look better against poorer teams.
3) I would much rather have Wade and Bryant instead of Austin and Wilson. Losing Mills isn't a loss.
4) It is a problem to have two munchkins as starters (5'8" and 5 9"). One is the slot is fine. Two becomes a problem. I see a top corner as a priority next off-season. The cap ranted for months how important this is; few listened. Folks kept on insisting that we had a fine set of corners, with three very good starter and lots of good depth.

It is not clear whether more than Gonzo and Marcus will continue as our corners after this year. Dial and/or Bolden might stay as STers. Jon Jones may stay as a free safety.

Mayo should get fired if we’re not winning that game.

Agree. Wade actually got better last season and played well.. however guess he dropped off in camp and was cut.. myles Bryant would have liked to keep him becuase he was excellent run support player. ...

Every one on defense is asked to do more instead of focusing on solely thier responsibilities.. therefore you see the breakdowns.. we hardly ever give up big plays especially slow WRs running free for big gains.

Agreed. It all runs down hill from the losses of Barmore, Judon, and Bentley.
Yes, everyone is asked to do more. It's just communication breakdowns more than the talent issues.

I remember mayo saying what's good for the team now, may not be what's good for the team weeks from now. We all know the team would have taken it's lumps.. being a whole new staff, with mayo implementing his program.. this looks awful to watch.. in alot of ways the SF game was worse than the Jets. I love mayo but I can't accept him saying Brissett gives the best chance to win.

Watching the Kittle catch in triple coverage was also interesting. No one was out position.

We need a non-munchkin starter to play a lot of reps opposite Gonzo.
Another thing we did was rely on guys from last season instead of adding another veteran that could have made the difference. That catch from Kittle was just a marvelous moss like moment.

This kinda occurred to me imagine if the Dolphins stink to the point of being in the running for the #1 Overall. I wouldn't be happy if Arc Manning ends up there just a thought. You don't have to convince me about those Mannings.

PF2 you know me.. I try to call it like it is.. I can't make any excuses for this team anymore.. bottom roster with injuries, worst QB in the NFL, I expected them to be better even with Brissett.. he's worse than Mac was.. it's a joke of a offense right now. Guys have evey right to be pissed. If players don't get pissed that means they Don't care.
