He's not but with Jon's age and diminished play.. he allowed a RB yesterday to beat him for 50 yards, Marcus on hill, gonzo on Waddle let j.jones take the slot guy
We need a deep safety. Hawkins ain't cutting it. Might as well move Jon Jones over to that position.

This will allow us a number of things.

1. Move Dugger up near the line of scrimmage where he does all his damage and where he can tracks back and TEs.
2. Stop, for the love of God, from playing Tavai in a deep zone.
3. Bring an extra DB onto the field earlier with both Dugger and Peppers playing up, while one of Tavai/McMillan leaves the field on anything more than 2nd and 5+.

Our LBs are covering no one, you need an extra safety, might as well give Jon Jones the deep stuff and move Dugger up.

Oh, and Marte Mapu, it's time to make an appearance.

It's probably the biggest reason why we didn't see Maye in garbage time last game.
This is it precisely.

Why aren't Patriots fans asking themselves why Maye played against the Jets but not the 9ers?

That's the big question.

There's only one answer: Leverett's presence.

1) mapu is likely to take on more of a LB role than Safety.. likely...

2). I agree with Jon at deep Safety it may be time too.. he's getting routinely beat.. not what you want our your 2nd best CB.

3) Hawkins has been ok.. he's being asked to play beyond his capabilities becuase our other CB'S all suck.. Austin, Wilson these guys can barely get on the field. Play dial at this point.

4) gonzo is phenomenal and QBs respect him. Pray he stays healthy or this defense will go to complete and utter garbage.

5) Peppers has to play deep because of the piss poor play of the bench.

Also Tavai is a great player but without Bentley and Barmore he's asked to do things beyond his skills set . Everyone is having to do more due to the injuries this how the defense will look add in a ****ty QB as well.

Winnable game even with the injuries and JB starting.
Im a very optimistic person.. I wish.. I really wish I had a reason for optimism with this offense.. I really thought we'd have a watchable exciting offense this season

Maye needs to start playing home against a bad Miami team. It’s a good opportunity.
The staff is afraid of worse results than when Nix has started.

The case of Nix is instructive. Their staff knew that he would look terrible and the team would look terrible. Nix is NOT playing well. HOWEVER, he is having the opportunity to learn. We would have Maye sit out until we have a solid OL. 2006? 2007?

What is the issue? Are we really terrified that Maye might experience a season ending injury? Sure, he might. More likely are the normal minor injuries, while learning. So many seem to want to wait until 2025 for him to have his learning season.

I'm also convinced they are not playing him until they have 2 weeks of a real starting offensive line together and the line is playing ok.
Game 3 of next year?

Agreed. It all runs down hill from the losses of Barmore, Judon, and Bentley.

They will have a top notch left tackle at the very least next season. That is invaluable for a young QB and worth waiting for. They might even grab two top tackles. Or a tackle and a center. Regardless the line play will be night and day from right now.

1. Im calling on Mapu because we need a LB who can move.
3. Hawkins is making some big errors for a deep safety. Twice now. Our other CBs suck? Like who? Marcus Jones has been excellent. Austin played well last year.

I was in favor of him playing before Andrews got hurt. Not now.

Should be clear the Patriots will not expect more than 1.5 seconds for a QB in the pocket with Leverett at Center.

There have been plenty of games in the past when the Patriots decided to pack it in and go run, run, run in a circumstance of too many injuries.

Please state the stats for yesterday's game. Leverett played very well indeed.

There is not doubt that the team needs to invest in the OL. Drafting the LT of the future is the right path, it is not a sure thing. Draft two and sign a vet.

Austin, Wilson.. haven't been good this season. Remember I was a Austin fan.. I guess suck it's a bit harsh. The back ups haven't done much

You don't know that. What if they cheap out in free agency with some Okorafor option again because they feel they can draft one and then the draft pick isn't ready or gets hurt? Do we have to sit Maye again?

Watching the Kittle catch in triple coverage was also interesting. No one was out position.

We need a non-munchkin starter to play a lot of reps opposite Gonzo.

Yup cheap out in free agency
1) Please list all the top LT's who we missed that wanted to play for us on 3-4 contracts and could be expected to part of our playoff runs.
2) I would note that some of those LT are so good that they are still available.
3) Review the top 10 OT's that were available. We knew lots of them: Onwenu, Brown, Eulomoner (sp?) and Fleming.
===========
But your point is well taken. Even if we do sign one of the top 5 OT available (again) and draft the top LT available, there are absolutely no guarantees. I could see us trading down in the first, picking a LT and then drafting a swing OT, IN ADDITION to signing a free agent.

Yeah I meant moving forward if you don't like the way I phrased last years moves you still got my point. We can't just sit around waiting for things to get perfect. When to play should come down to when we think he's ready to play.

Yea there will be a learning curve once he is in regardless of when he plays, so in my mind that should be now. I am always for letting a rookie QB sit the first month for learning the NFL speed, weekly routine, the new city they are in. After that month, should be enough time to learn the playbook and most needed info, I say get em in there especially as a 3rd pick.

We had the luxury of sitting Maye for the month that you suggest. That month is over.
