Game Day Thread 2024 OFFICIAL Game Day Thread: Week 4 - NE @ SF

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Lastly, we have never allowed promoting the use of any illegal streaming. This is illegal and will be enforced by copyright holders, which puts this site at risk. DO NOT POST ANY LINKS to those platforms.

This also means, there absolutely cannot be any mention these platforms, spaces, special characters, etc. - so do not get creative in trying to work around this request.

If you do you will have your account suspended.

I do not have the means to deal with legal issues and have already been contacted previously, so this absolutely needs to be adhered to. If you see any illegal links, please report them so a mod can remove them.

how many punts did we have within that range? we could have instead been kicking FGs this whole time?? this whole season??

Presumably it's a low % kick and given that the half was over it made sense.

If there was time on the clock they certainly weren't going to do all that.

Mayo so smart, he wanted to know what the kicker was all about. Watch his second half adjustments.

Are both of these statements true?

1) We have the worst team in the NFL.
2) With Tannehill at QB today, we'd probably be competitive.

ALTERNANITIVE
We have the worst QB in the NFL.
=================
I suspect that we couldn't get any of the reasonable options to come here, probably including Tannehill. Blame whoever you wish to.

Blame the management for wanting to turn a new page. Yes, they thought than Okorafor was better, but Jacobs has been sort of OK.
The primary issue has been the lack of a QB.
================
LET ME PUT IT ANOTHER WAY
Most of us were ready to accept a 3- to 6-win season. That's still theoretically possible. Of course, the whining won't stop. If we knew before the season that we would be 1-3 and starting Maye or a marginally qualified backup QB for Game 5? Of course not.

The ONE ISSUE is that Brissett is NOT a marginally qualified backup. He is terrible. No one can call plays to make him better. An average backup QB today would have had lots of completions.

JB has been the problem. Dude has been holding onto the ball for a long ****ing time. I understand when the pressure has been in under 2.5 seconds, but that has not been the major problem today.
He has a lot of Mac jones in him. He simply doesn’t anticipate. On the pick he was throwing to the 3rd most open guy.

First half impressions - obviously Slye best player with that kick but Layden Robinson does the best job picking up Brissett after he gets knocked down. I’d say he’s a “keeper” and Drake will be in good hands after all!!!!

Gronk: I hear you Pats Fans, but don't put in Maye and ruin his confidence.

Maye will definitely get snaps today, though, as we're looking at more garbage time shortly.

That field goal probably keeps Maye out until the 4th quarter now.

Meanwhile...in New York/New Jersey:

Jets lose the tiebreaker against Denver too. I think they may go into a “tailspin” so to speak soon…

As an aside, is it just me or does anyone else have difficulty seeing a FG kick going through the posts? With the crowd behind the goals I find it almost impossible to see the ball. Wish that the TV coverage could somehow blank out the crowd behind the posts for FG tries i.e. replace them with a white box or something.

Bengals should be cursing themselves as to how they lost to us...

I saw that UCHE was back.

Any update on Wallace, Andrews and Dugger? They all OUT?

Wolfe must be cursed…

Think about this:

-Turned down flat in FA by any decent FA.

-Paid Onwenu who showed up badly out of shape and has been awful.

-Paid Dugger who has been mid and now injured

-Paid Rhamondre who has fumbled in 4/4 games

-Signed Chuks who literally quit football

-Signed Watts who didn’t make the team.

-Paid Barmore who then got blood clots before playing a snap.

Like…NONE of his moves have panned out so far.

Some of that is just awful juju.

They need some sage burned or something
.

Yes we would be better with a better qb but we are playing with one hand tied behind our back because we wouldn’t spend 40 million of cap dollars. Look at the players we are putting out there and his easily they could have been upgraded. Now that injuries are starting, as it was always known they would, it’s getting even worse.

Who was ready to accept a terrible season in march when we had $100,000,000 and the 3rd pick in every round?
The failure was from then until the day you said 3 wins would be okey dokey for you.
