Polk instead Kingsley Suamataia?

SO… We sign & start VD, and that’s it? We don’t even bother trying to draft/sign anyone else, we just hand the LT job to him and that’s it?!? **** that ****.

BTW, I saw Brandon Coleman on the field throughout the game… at LG… Don’t know if he started there, as I didn’t catch the first 10 minutes of it…
They signed Okorafor and drafted Wallace.

The original post with Coleman was for 2 games, he played 29 snaps in the 3rd game. 55 PFF, 22 snaps in Giants game week before was a 39.5 PFF.
Wallace was drafted 1 spot after him and has a 55 rating also so far this year.

These other options are not difference makers this year. Mybe in a year or 2 things change, and Polk was the wrong choice, but so far Polk looks, on tape, to be a starting #2 NFL WR.
The original post on this thread was how Kingsley was starting, so should have drafted him over Polk, well. Polk is starting, Kingsley is benched.
Expecting much contribution from wide receivers with Jacoby Brissett is expecting a lot.

Not saying they are busts, saying they would not make a difference this year to the line.
What other free agents? I saw a recent list of how the tackle free agents are doing from this off season, they are not doing well.
Players that have already started in the past and played great. Oli Udoh, Yosh Nijman, Andrus Pete... all the F/A tackle who were under the age of 30 who were better options than Okorafor, Lowe and Jordan.

If they signed these guys ^ and drafted a rookie tackle in the 2nd this 2024 team is competitive... they can block. They wouldn't miss Polk in the least.

None of those guys would be any better than Lowe or Jordan, they kind of stink, Jordan has played better than all of them this year. So not an upgrade based on what they've done this year.

Seems the point is well established the other options were no better than what they did.

Agreed. People also lose sight of how the largest single cap increase since its inception impacted this year's FA. There was far far less FA talent available as a result and as fate would have it is was the one year the Pats were in a position to take advantage. Hopefully the 2025 cap increase will be minimal putting the Pats in a more favorable position

Tyron Smith?
I keep repeating Smith too. Morgan Moses and John Simpson as well.

People only consider the signings and trades that support their argument. After watching Smith, Simpson, and Moses completely out perform our OL last Thursday, you would think it was obvious, but people seem to have forgotten on Friday.

Tyron Smith?
IF reports about him only wanting to play for a contender are untrue then he's in the equation. Was there ANY amount of money to change his mind? I would think maybe at some dollar amount maybe you could get him, but he was willing to take less to have a chance to win a Super Bowl. Then becomes a question how much do you have to overpay to get him to give up that thought?
He's never spoken about it, but the reports from reporters and such was that he only wanted to play for a contender.
But technically, Yeah assuming he makes it thru an entire season healthy he was the 1 free agent option available. Just not clear he had any interest in coming to a rebuilding team to end his career no matter the money.

Bullsht… they’re better players and when healthy always have been.

These players have started and played well on great units. Okorafor and Lowe haven’t played well except against terrible opponents.

“Because I say so” isn’t an argument.

I agree, because you say so is not an argument, the PFF ratings are worse, which is at least some analyses that you need dispute with your 2024 play by play analyses of these players and explain why PFF is wrong.
Who cares what you think of what they did before which is totally subjective and based on your own personal bias. This year they have been worse and all we care about is how they play this year.

Tbh every team has sucky tackles.

At this point I don't think it's talent, it's all about 3 Cs - coaching , conditioning and continuity .

Can't blame the players if they are not in a position to succeed. I want peters and mayo to grow a pair and play the best players in their natural positions even if it means one position is rank bad. I am okay if we play a PS quy at LT . Always assume that edge rusher will get a free pass on left. Aren't there plays which we can take advantage of when we have a free edge rusher. Why not open lanes in right . If they stack people on right, then the most athletic guard will shift left and clear the defender when we do a screen on left . Use Douglas and Thornton on those screens or jet sweeps.

PFF said Stephon Gilmore was a bad player when the Pats acquired him in 2017… PFF is toilet paper.

The free agents I mentioned were good based on stats. Sacks allowed, rushing yards created, wins by team.

Using a bunch of virgin math nerds at PFF and pretending they understand football when they don’t is foolish.

Days leading up to the Jets game, you used PFF to tell this entire board that despite our eyes this offensive line was actually good… how’d that turn out? Exactly like PFF telling us Gilmore wasn’t good.

PFF is really good at stat aggregation.
When they move into grading or evaluation, they kind of turn to ****.
My guess as to why their grades get so much traction is because of a) who owns a piece of them, and b) no one else really does it on a large scale.

But yeah, bank on PFF 'grades' at your own peril.

PFF grades have people who aren't familiar with watching offensive line play, believing that Verdarian Lowe and Sidy Sow are the saviors-in-waiting, just as soon as they stop being injured. Spoiler: They're not. They *also* suck. Sow's ceiling is 'below-average NFL starter', which, granted, would be an improvement right now - but this isn't exactly Bruce Armstrong and John Hannah on the way to save everything.

Well, that's a terrible way to analyze, Good stats? LOL.

PFF does play by play and has a system, yeah, things about it are off especially because of the way they do cb's. It's different for lineman so not sure why you relate Gilmore to lineman, they do those analysis two totally different ways.

Nope, I said the rookies were bad in pass pro and we'd be in big trouble having 2 rookies starts, even said that when I predicted an easy win for the Jets but yeah, just make up stuff, that 's a good way to argue.
I did not rely on PFF, AT ALL, in my analysis of the line in the first 2 games, I was 100% solely on tape and watching each play, and again, NEVER SAID THE LINE WAS GOOD, EVER. Reading comprehension is difficult, I'm guessing English not your first language?

You are terrible at analyzing on field talent, so you want the board to rely on you, who has failed OVER AND OVER again vs PFF and the existing teams that are not even playing half the guys you wanted as starters.

PFF will always find some random guy on a team and say why he's the top at his position. They were pumping up Jalen Mills in 2021 as a top CB during the second half of the season while not explaining why. He ended up allowing the 2nd most TD passes and 111 QB rating when thrown at as a #2 CB. PFF doesn't do a good job of looking at the entre picture/career with these players and only sees what they want to see.

PFF has also made some unknowns a lot of money with their made up stats.

No, Sow is a plus athlete and strong.

Lowe is a road cone…

Sure… positive play and results are a poor way to analyze… makes sense.

PFF told you this offensive line was good days before they allowed 7 sacks once they faced a better defense.

PFF is toilet paper.

Continue with the lies, you lost all ability to be taking seriously with making up lies to support your argument, Sorry, no interest in debating liars. Once you have to reduce yourself to lying to support your argument your dead to me as pretty clear you have no ability to analyze anything without supreme bias. Enjoy the fantasy world you live in I won't be visiting it with you.

Wtf are you going on about… lied, about what?

Don’t get salty just because you said this line wasn’t the problem days before they got slaughtered versus the Jets. You were wrong, that’s no lie.

You lied when you said the I said the line was good, you lied again when you said I said PFF said the line was good before the Jets game.
I specifically said the line was in trouble with 2 rookies and Jets would win easily, so you continue to lie

You actually say something is not a a lie and lie about that! HAHAHHAHA, Can you not stop lying?
What about my post below do you twist into such a massive lie (you said this line wasn’t the problem days before they got slaughtered versus the Jets)?

Them Who I shall Not Name: 28
Us: 17

Short week with rookie LT, Rodgers vs Brissett, have a hard time seeing this one going well. We will need to run the ball 50 times.
