At any rate, this team was in disarray from the opening drive on. Not really much else to say. Sadly Brissett is only going to do so much. Tbh Maye keeps them competitive but after a lot of thought I think they are handling him right by sitting him. Work him in slowly like tonight. You really don’t need a scrambling QB masking the deficiencies of a offensive line that is missing two starters and just isn’t ready to protect your top 3 franchise pick. Now is not the time imo.
They're still at the point where they can make a decent argument that Brissett gives them the best chance to win. But I think that's not going to hold true all that much longer.

They already lost that argument when Maye came in running the hurry up offense and personally gained over 1/3 of Brissett’s total yards for the game in one drive

Who thinks Maye starts against the 49ers?? I do.
That D, our OL, Maye by the 2nd Quarter…

On the flip side, the Jetes got a glimpse of the dude who will be ripping it off with no lube against them for a long, long time.

Thats kinda worth it.

THe FO does not care if they win or don't win this year. They just want it to be a learning year for Maye.

I can point to a few good drives by Brissett too. He had quite a few bad throws against a defense that packed it in and got hit way too much.

The downside is not worth the upside of playing Maye now.

The future is entirely on Drake's shoulders now.
If he turns out to be a bust, this team will suck for another 5-7 years.

You do not thro the franchises future under the bus without a chance to succeed. That is self sabotage.

Losing while being competitive like last week is fine. You get valuable experience both from young players and the coaching.

Getting dunked on like that? Well you start to wonder how bad everyone is top to bottom.
Short week on the road is a bad spot sometimes. They came out flat. It has to get better.

during garbage time when it meant nothing to Jets defense.
Maye's performance tonight means nothing and it was mediocre at best.

Again, for the umpteenth time, you don't pick a tackle in the top 5 IF you don't have the QB. See Thomas, Joe as a prime example. And don't come at my with JJ or Penix or Nix etc. Shove all that where the sun doesn't shine.
no...you don't pick a non sure fire franchise qb at 3, without any semblance of an OL in place.
Now if he was a "generational" talent like Caleb Williams or Daniels, I agree with you

but Maye has many flaws and risks and is not a sure thing.
Alt is a sure thing plug and play dominant LT for 10-15 years

100% with you on this.
I still think Joe Alt might have been the wiser pick
Nah, sign some offensive linemen instead of Okorafor, Michael Jackson and Leverett. Draft a stud OT in the second round when they were there.

Sign Oli Udoh, Yosh Nijman and Andrus Peat in free agency instead. Draft Patrick Paul/Sumiata in the 2nd round. Similar money to the F/A’s they did sign. 4 shots to get two tackle spots filled, backups who can play tackle and guard better than any of their current options.

That’s a very good/great line if healthy.

Bad team > Good team

Nobody is surefire. Nobody. I get it, you don't like Maye, you think he sucks and will suck. Funny how 3 teams at least didn't. The Giants, the Vikings and the Pats. Grabbing a tackle at 3 or even 5 would have been laughable. Sheer comedy.

Please, tell me more about how good our offensive line really is. That was fun. That all of us who saw the way they were playing were delusional. Yeah, Brissett is holding onto the ball...while he's running for his life. Jaysus.
