Are the WRs actually getting open?

Hunter Henry was targeted 12 times and caught 8 balls. There is no way Henry is quicker into his cuts and is able to get separation quicker than Pop. Frankly this speaks more on Brissett looking for Henry more so than looking at the defense and seeing who else is open.

Some of Henry's catches were emergency outlets from Brissett rolling out away from pressure. Even with Jacoby being average at best, most of the passing game woes boil down to poor OL protection. There's just not enough time for routes to develop and the QB to set up/go through his reads.

DJ Moore is frustrated and has thrown some acid Williams way,
I would inquire about a number 2 for DJ Moore, it could happen the Bears don’t want Caleb’s psyche being damaged.

This offense is not Perkins-Earhart offense of old.

2.) that offensive line is the worst offensive line I have ever seen.
I wish that we could improve our OL enough so that we could run the ball for over 150 yards.

Brissett had his opportunities to throw. He couldn't identify the defense or open receivers in time. And sure, it would have much better if the OL gave Brissett the 3 seconds he needs. There won't be any long throws with Brissett and this line.
=================
One has a very selective memory if a line that run protects for 185 yards is the worst line they have ever seen. Perhaps, they haven't seen many games or teams.

one-two-three-throw works for any QB with at least some competence.

What video are you referring to?
Show me some examples and we can discuss.
The video of Pop is in the post-game thread.

A long time poster here was at the game and stated that Pop was open all day long. It's ridiculous to imply that Seattle had every NE reciever locked up. They didn't and Brisset just doesn't anticipate his best option to pass to.

I found this article by Doug Kyed, I am not familiar with him so grain of salt please. I thought it was relevant to the discussion here

MSN

Edit: This was the part of the article that intrigued me the most.

Brissett has been great at evading pressure and has yet to turn the ball over, but he’s not blameless in the Patriots’ issue with pressure. At 3.25 seconds, he’s second-slowest in time to throw on all dropbacks, including sacks and scrambles. He’s third-slowest, at 2.89 seconds, in time to throw on passing attempts. He’s faced just four pressures in less than 2.5 seconds and 23 pressures in 2.5 seconds or more.

I wold say that it is mostly Brissett not seeing them. But that’s what you get when you start a career backup that is slow to process and take a lot of sack

And a 15 Year wind up to boot.

The Jets will take him away easily we'll see what the Biscuit do then...it could get ugly.

We're only having this conversation because media morons are watching replays and have no clue what they're looking at.

This ^ is one of the worst takes here today. Polk was wide open?

Watch the play again, instead of watching Polk alone, instead of watching the CB trailing him... look at the DE lurking underneath. Polk comes open on the sideline eventually, but it was an extremely high difficulty throw and the DE was sitting on it the entire play.

I hope you are not coming to the Tortoise Defense yes Brissett is getting pressure but he's can evade it most times but his release is very slow. No Defense is giving you 10 seconds to throw.

1) He's not.
2) His 'breakdowns' today (and there have been more than one) are just embarrassing hot sports take ********.

1) Unlike you, he gets paid to do it. Don't think he would last very long if he wasn't good.
2) If it was BS he would have been outed and attacked or at least contradicted by one or more of his 20,000 followers. (And please don't tell me all 20,000 of them are sheep.)

Appealing to popularity and 'being there' are not exactly great metrics. So, his FOLLOWers FOLLOW what he says and don't contradict him. Wow.

Lots of people get paid to do jobs they aren't necessarily good at. Happens all the time.

And neither of those are subject-related arguments. You could use the same arguments in regard to any 'noteworthy' personality.

I've read quite a bit of debate on this between fans. Haven't really personally noticed tbh, not re-watching the tape or looking at all 22. Is Brissett just not seeing guys? I know OL has been a big factor.
As @TommyD4207 mentioned the WR'S are getting open.. the tackles can't fend off any pressure. Even with a 4 man rush.

I kind of take this off the WRs..between Brissett not having time and yes his limits as well as a passer don't help. But you have the ultimate relief valve in pop and somehow we can get the ball to him.

No, the numbers show that they are not getting open. To some extent this reflects the fact that Brissett is forced by lousy pass protection to get the ball out before they can get open, but this is largely a continuation of an existing problem: our WR's are just not that good. They didn't get much separation last year either. Some have said here that they may not be getting open because they are discouraged and pouting over not getting the ball. If this is determined to be the case for any particular WR, the solution is simple: cut that player. Placing the main blame on Brisset is asinine. He was never -at no point - represented as a long-term , let alone a permanent solution to the QB problem. If you do not know this, you have not been paying attention. Brissett is what he is, and he is a little more than playing up to his known potential, in my view.

The O-line is lousy. Blame present and past GMs.

The WR room is weak. Blame present and past GM's.

The HC must task the OC with scheming a far better passing game - the short game in particular - absolutely, but with what the OC and Brissettt have to work with, there is only so much to be done.

Maye meanwhile is best kept out of this goddam mess until the team manages to build an offensive setting in which his development can safely and effectively be advanced by playing in actual games. The team is simply not there yet.

They just paid him, probably wouldn’t want to eat the guaranteed money

If Moore asked the NE WRs whats it like to play there they would tell him stay in Chicago.

You do know that when Stevenson ran for 120 vs the bengals it was 139 after contact, right? Hard to pimp the ol for that.
