After 4 quarters, we were in a tie.

Is ANYONE saying that Jacoby playing just a little like an NFL QB wouldn't have resulted in a win? He was really, really incompetent.
========
We have lots and lots to improve upon. HOWEVER, as was the case several times last year, better QB would have been enough to win the game.

Any QB needs some talent, the Pats have ZERO! No idea how they can miss on so many picks for so long.

Nabors is good MJH is elite. If you don’t like Daniel Jones, your not going to like Maye, he is the same guy, both .500 ACC QBs.
Daniel Jones sucked in college, sucks as a pro, Maye was a stud in college will be a stud in pros.

Nabors is elite. MHJ we will see, last week was putrid, slowest top speed of all wide receivers.
He’ll probably be good but needs to show it on tape in the NFL, Nabors already has.

Obviously, the quarterback can’t do it all by themselves and they’re building a team here not going to happen all in one year from but when you have a once in a decade prospect like Drake Maye you draft him, in my hundreds of hours researching college quarterbacks that’s what he is

Mentioning Jones as a comparison to him is just absurd

That’s a fair assumption.

If Maye is the player he should be we had three or four game changing moments somebody better than Jacoby would have been able to make
To be fair to the rookie we also need to expect the same number of game changing mistakes. To me that is the price of doing business and a step in the right direction.

I can only imagine that the pressure to start Maye is going to increase from this point on.
If it wasn't a short week this week, I think there would be a serious discussion of starting Maye. I mean this is 2-0 team if they could push it down the field a tiny bit more.

I gotta think Maye's athleticism would help the offense even more. You aren't calling plays for Brissett to run, if he's running it's because he's escaped the pocket from pressure and he doesnt see anyone open. With Maye maybe that 3rd and 1 OT you call his number

To be fair, I think we're going to see that Seattle has a top-5 defense, they're going to win the NFCW ahead of San Fran, and the Jets D is gonna look easy to us after what we just faced. Jacoby looked good on several drives, but the Seahawks made adjustments that we couldn't figure out, from AVP to Jacoby to the OL.

He had lineman that were beat off the ball and WR who don’t know enough to run hot routes. Joe Milton wins that game today.
My question is. On a short week.. does Drake get 50% of reps?

We tried to win by keeping it close and getting lucky. Targeted WRs something like 3 times all game. We took big plays off the table. You can make it closer but you can’t win many games that way.
But, we aren’t good football team so that may be the smart play.
Bottom line - at the end of the day we got “taken to the hill”!

There’s no way Maye starts Thursday on a short week. Week 5 is the sweet spot, not a cross country trip against the best defense in football. Any later than week 5 would be stupid on Mayo.

I’m happy overall with Jacoby and how the team is performing. I thought things would have been much worse. I enjoy the competitiveness of the team. I’m fine with sticking to the plan and let Jacoby continue to play.

Andrews said in his presser that they have zero live reps on a short week…it’s just walkthroughs.

Probably not the week to start Maye.

Possibly at SF as it’s a long practice week.

But my guess is still Miami or Texans game for his debut unless Jacoby gets hurt.

Mediocre QB. Lousy WR performance. O-line porosity. No real surprise. They tried.
What about the coach? Does he still get held accountable as it relates to the team’s performance?

I don't think they are playing Maye this year much at all. They need to ignore the noise and stick the plan. When he is ready, he is ready regardless of the week or opponent. I don't think it's anytime before week 12 or so unless JB gets hurt.

We don't need "ELITE" play at QB. We need Steady. And Brissett hasn't given us that BECAUSE of the O-Line.

Brissett can't look past his first read. Never has been able to. That is the book on Brissett. Even when Brissett has time he pulls the ball down and runs and then throws on the run.

You’re kidding right?
