yeah, I'm not going to debate Ring6/Andy Johnson. I think my feelings are pretty clear. If they aren't, pm me and i shall provide you with an invective filled screed free of charge.
and you are right - the players deserve the lions share of the accolades, and i am not going to argue that point. I will just say that the Hall of Fame decided from the beginning to have a contributor category, which includes owners, in the Hall of Fame. If you say that they don't belong, you are just flat out wrong. There is no argument to be had, or made, to refute that. The founders of the Hall of Fame made the decision, and Owners have been represented from the beginning.
There are 31 contributors in the HoF. 19 of them are owners... and its understood that some of these guys were league or team founders, players, coaches, administrators etc. Some of them are just listed as "Owner"... The guys in the Hall: Bert Bell, Charles Bidwell, Pat Bowlen, Paul Brown, Joseph Carr, Jimmy Conzelman, Al Davis, Eddie DeBartolo Jr, George Halas, Lamar Hunt, Jerry Jones, Curly Lambeau, Tim Mara, Wellington Mara, George Marshall, Dan Reeves, Art Rooney, Dan Rooney & Ralph Wilson.
It is clear the HoF that owners are eligible and worthy of enshrinement. Whether or not anyone agrees of disagrees with the policy. It borders on criminal that the petty ******** politics of the nomination committe is keeping him out... Hes just another Patriot on the list who should be in the Hall but has been denied that honor... The most successful dynasty in the History of the NFL, which had to deal with free agency, the salary cap, pointless excursions into witchhunts fueled by petty rivalries and jealousy has what? 2 players in the Hall Ty Law and Richard Seymour (I don't count Moss, Revis or Seau as Patriots). Thats insulting.
It is my opinion that Robert Kraft belongs in the Hall of Fame.
