Plenty of blame to go 'round there. A cop shouldn't have to ask, mime and then tap on a window to get a driver to roll down a window. Just courtesy/go along to get along to have it down when the cop walks up. Right out of the gate tyREEK is 'DON"T KNOCK ON MY WINDOW LIKE THAT." Maybe don't make him tap on it? From there it just goes to ****.

This is the kind of crap you see all the time on these types of vids. Someone's a richard and the cop reacts in kind and then some. Not excusing the cops but wtf maybe don't be a **** and everybody just gets quietly on with their business that much sooner
If a kid is being a prick does that give a teacher the right to beat a student? “Well it could have been avoided if they weren’t being a prick?”

Why do we only make these excuses for police? We don’t do this for teachers, we don’t do this for service workers, it’s only police that are authorized to be unprofessional if people are disrespectful.

WTH, please look at what I posted and tell me how I made anything close to the argument you are refuting. I literally started with "Plenty of blame to go 'round there." Feel free to look at the rest of my posts in the thread while you're at it. We've interacted enough for you to know the kind of guy I am and I sure as hell wouldn't and haven't excused the cops. My other posts in this thread fleshed it out a bit more. tyREEK getting the karma bus rolling doesn't excuse the cops for jumping aboard. And the cops will take it up the rear for their part in it while ofc tyREEK will skate cause he tyREEK.

The douche did douche things and then cries he was compliant, doesn't excuse what happened just makes it karmic.

Do you not understand the difference? Which of the professions above are require to stop people breaking the law, and sometimes get shot at by those people?

Why did Hill not roll down his window and cooperate with a lawful stop?

No the cops should not be fired. Could it have been handked better? Yes.

Easy to second guess cops safety concerns from behind the safety of a computer screen.

You can protect your safety without being an aggressive confrontational *******.

What do you think he should have done when the suspect rolled up his tinted window and refused to roll it back down?

Well, to be real, Cops deal with scumbags and life threatening situations constantly. Wonder how you would act? Also, there’s a lot of **** cops out there too. Just sayin.

Yes you can and what's left of the sane person in me still wants to believe there are at least 10 'good' cops out there for every not so good one. Unfortunately that still leaves a lot of not so great cops. And in a big city like Miami I'm betting the good to bad ratio is a lot closer to even than it is 10 to 1.

I know plenty of good cops, I ran a daycare that gave a discount city fire and police, and I took care of their kids. But I also know some total assholes that have no business being cops, and they’re the ones who give good cops a bad name.

Cops are supposed to be BETTER than the average person in their emotional control and responses. Do I want just anybody to have license to use lethal force? I find that argument ridiculous, too. Cops are charged with a TREMENDOUS duty. It takes special people to do the job well.

I don’t disagree that many cops face difficult situations, but that wasn’t one of them. And what I wouldn’t do is escalate the situation when dealing with someone who isn’t in any way being aggressive.

What would you do if the person you pulled over for driving recklessly put their tinted window up and refused to comply when you asked them to put it down?

Its a fair question to ask to those who say “do not escalate”.
How does a police officer de-escalate the situation with a non compliant and confrontational citizen?

Tyreek is at least partly responsible for the outcome which is why I do not think the officer should be fired.

Now if Tyreek had been fully cooperative and he was handcuffed and taksn to ground… yes firing would be justified.

Now tyreek hill is publicly demanding that the officer be terminated immediately.

a cops job is to protect and serve and get home to friends and family alive. knowing it was tyreek and his violent history the cops were probably a little extra cautious handling him but no need to put your knee on his back. brings flashbacks of george floyd. nobody covered themselves in glory that day.

He has the drivers license go write up the ticket and come back. Tyreek definitely should have just left it down but not sure why the officer had to choose that to allow things to escalate.

IMO it does not matter if a driver feels they are right or wrong.
Put the officer at ease ... roll your window down ... inside lights on if night time and hands on the wheel.
Then let things go from there ... too many dead cops from pulling drivers over.
Also doing things with their safety in mind kind of helps with just a warning ... which who doesn't like that?

Some years ago I was speeding south on route 95 around Wrentham and saw a car closing in on me ... quickly.
I kind of thought it was probably a cop but the car only had 1 headlight .. no way I thought could it be a cop O yjought.
So his lights go on and I pull over ... he says didn't you see my car closing in on you?
I said yes ... but what cop car only has one headlight ... he laughed his ass off and sent me on my way with a slow down son.
