It’s not going to be pretty. I don’t see us winning a game in the division. The best chances at a win are on the road. We may be going to Tennessee and Chicago with 0 wins and the talk will start about the possibility of 0-17. At some point they have to wise up and get the QBOTF experience, and he may steal us a couple of wins. We are decidedly worse than every team on the schedule. Worse yet, I don’t see the games we can win because the other Qb hands it to us, maybe Indy, tenn, chi. Hopefully there will be a lot of QB injuries and we face some backups. 3-14

I hate picking against the SB loser curse, but the 49ers have been the best team in the NFL the last 2 years. Williams will come back at some point. I think this is their year to take home the Lombardi.

I've been a crazy homer in the past, predicting playoff appearances and winning records the majority of years since TFB left, but I see this as a pure re-rebuilding year. Some will lose their minds, some of us remember the good days, and some will anticipate what's to come and hope it's winning football. I've stocked numerous bottles of bourbon (thanks for the recommendations in the bourbon thread).

At least it'll be satisfying to watch the Lolphins go down in the Super Bowl. I'd be remiss if I didn't say it'll be cool to watch all the youngins get experience. There's hope for the future, but the day is darkest before the dawn and all that.

Drake is forced into the starting line up, and by the third or fourth game gets a serious concussion from a sack and is out for the season.

Milton becomes the first QB in NFL history to put multiple players on IR by rocketing balls off their heads. Fortunately for the Pats, he proves very durable, his large body able to withstand the 7 sacks per game (avg). They win one low scoring game 10-6 due to a Milton 150 yd rushing performance and a Hail Mary off his back foot that reaches the end zone from the 10 yd line, tipped up in the air by Polk to Thornton (his only reception of the game after 7 targets).

After the final game of the worst season in Patriots' history, Wolf tells Kraft that Mayo has to go. Mayo is fired, and AVP is elevated to head coach for next season.

No way to spin this season other than that it's part of the rebuilding process. Now last year they easily could have won several more games with even semi-competent QB or special teams play, so I think they were quite possibly "better" than their dismal record. (I know, I know, you are what your record says you are...it's just that they weren't too far from having a significantly better record so more wins this year wouldn't surprise me at all.)

Brissett should be better than what Mac and Zappe gave them last year. Their WRs are better. The D should take a step back but at worst they should be middle of the pack.

I mean look, they're not going to be good. If all breaks right, they could maybe win 8 games, but that would take everything going right I think. What I hope for is the following:

1. Fun, exciting, competitive football, regardless of their record.

2. Maye showing up at some point and we all get the very real sense that he could be THE GUY for the future, and that that future isn't *that* far off.

3. We see growth and skill from Mayo and his staff.

4. The actual record still allowing the Pats to get a high draft slot next year so they can seriously address OL and maybe even WR again.

5. Polk, Baker, and Thornton (or at least 2 of the 3) turning out to be pretty darned good. Don't have to be #1 level good, but pretty darned good is something I'll take.

That stuff happens and it's a successful season in my eyes. I predict 5-12, ending up with a top 6 draft slot, and by the end of the year we are all excited about the Drake Maye future for the team.

Talk about a feel good story…if not for that, we should hope for this because of the hatred and loathing that would be rekindled.
