I thought people wanted more transparency post-BB?
Hard to ignore when a player can hold the HC hostage so long while: a) in public view, and b) when said HC is supposed to be leading a full team practice.

We'd have a field day here if this happened with the Jete.

No, I know. I don't like it either. But I thought it was funny because this would not be the way they did business under Bill, even as they would be having the same conversations behind the scenes.

Wouldn't shock me if he gets traded soon. Sends a message to the team if he's going to hold in and try to hold them hostage.

Well there goes the DL. That ball dropped quick.
Barmore out for a few months likely, and Judon sounds like he's gone.

White will have to grow up quick and become Judon's replacement. (with Jennings overachieving)
Watts & Ekuale/Pharms/Roberts might have to be Barmore's replacements (next to Godchaux - if they work that issue out)

Not great

I said it before 3 and 14 if the defense isn’t top 5

I don’t know. That sounds like the way Bill did business. Do Wolf and Mayo just see it as how players do business now? I guess we’ll find out.

What's up with kj Osbourne? No news about him or JuJu. Both veterans seem to be missing in action. Thornton closely trails them.

Maye also seems to have 2 dud practice days in a row. Donno what to make of it. Prolly immaterial for now, but something to keep an eye on.. Milton had 4/5 passes with 1 drop

I don't see Thornton in competition with these two, it's Tyquan versus Raegor for that speed role that needs filling. They need at least one guy who can stretch the field.

Maye is 21, he is repping against the 1's. Today was the first padded practice. He was going to have a learning curve, most rookies do. He'll have more mistakes going forward.

At this point last year a poster was telling me Sidy Sow would be lucky to make the practice squad. I told him to hold his water, there's a lot of football from now until week one and Sow was hyper talented. He slowly worked his way up from the 4th, 3rd, 2nd team until he was running with the starters by week one. There's a lot of football left and practice is for improving.

Why are these conversations taking place in public? Not a fan of it
This wouldn't have happened under Belic...

Kidding, kind of. Watching Mayo navigate this. saying something along the lines of "we want the guys to be themselves", knowing that he might be playing with fire is interesting to watch. The problem will come when he tries to real it in and take away some of the individuality that he's clearly allowing so far. I can't help but feel we are watching a first time coach making mistakes that every other first time coach make.

I certainly didn't care for the spectacle that Judon was (kind of) making.

Mayo compounded the first-time mistake by going over there. You’re just going to get into a fight over a contract in the middle of practice. Let him sit and deal with him in your office after practice. Why provoke it further?

Which poster would that be because I remember the only discussion about Sow a year ago was you insisting Sow had the ability to play tackle in this league.

Exactly right, why give Judon the opportunity to disrupt practice. Unless Mayo was going ask him to leave the field, the HC needs to be focusing on the whole team and not let himself get distracted by a player who decided to sit on the sidelines. If I was Mayo, I would banish Mayo and Gawd to the locker room if they are not going to participate in practice. He has to show that players that there are consequences for publicly disrespecting him and the rest of the team.

I didn't insist anything, it was reported the Patriots said they drafted Sow to play tackle. I don't doubt that Sow can play tackle. he ended up at guard last season out of necessity and looked really good. They played Onwenu at tackle and now he's playing guard again. I'm not going to out this poster, he knows who he is. Many a great lineman can play guard or tackle.

He should have not been allowed on the field, showing up the coach and organization a little bit. This "holding in" is distractive BS. Either practice or sit out.

We should be playing for 2026 and the new coaching staff.

I agree with the first part, don't know about the second.

Two full off seasons gives control over getting the team made in the image the front office/coaches want......we haven't seen enough of the coaches to know anything one way or another; especially Mayo who might be learning why somethings were done the way they were under the previous staff.

This is the worst coaching staff in the nfl. And the owner won’t even spend money. The only way Mayo makes it past 2 years is with a sympathy year 3.
