Camp surprise cut 2024

Zappe would not be a surprise. Milton would be. So would Strange.

Didn't realize there would be a big cap hit to cutting Juju now. Makes sense

Jones wasn't a thing in 2020 and Bill always had full control over football ops till the day he was canned.
2020 was a cap reset year, which is why Cam got 500K guaranteed. They entered that season with the third most dead cap in the NFL and depleted roster from playing in 4 Super Bowls. Learn the game…

Same here @PatsFan2 and I said the same thing.. no matter what BS about Brissett being the starter I can say confidently Drake will be the best QB in camp..
We want Maye day to begin sooner rather than later Biscuit is not going to help our WR's. I don't care if we don't make the playoffs let Drake get his reps.

Yes I know that was Bill's excuse, he's had a lot of them since Brady left for some reason.

And yet Bill still tagged Thuney for $15M... seems like a strange thing to do if it was really a cap reset year and a probable lost season...

He wanted to keep Thuney going forward, he was young, nobody knew KC would offer him 90 million. Poor collaboration is all the excuse you need.

He wasn't that young and wasting tag money on him in a likely lost season doesn't feel like the best way to get around a limited cap...

See my replies about the 2019 defense above, ballwashing aside I already answered this multiple times. Suggesting the #1 defense in the league was “bad” is some next level stupidity. If the offense doesn’t falter in 2019 and the Pats continue through the playoffs we might argue the 2019 defense was the best dynasty defense of all. When the offense faltered it made pass rushing (their strength) harder to utilize. Complementary football….
Wozzy.. no one said the D was bad they just came back down to earth.. and thier sneaky weakness was run D.. as great as they were as a unit they were getting old and banged up.. even with the struggles on offense brady was still dam good enough for that team.. he had just got them to a superbowl yet again.. I mean he shouldn't have to put up 505 yards every superbowl... n'snail Harry had he'd been worth a dam.. the offense could have been more fluid.. but no the playmaker was Myers a guy bill didn't want to pay an extra million... well in defense of bill he did have to pay Steve 2.5.. for not being named a DC.. it's all related...

And he's been good but nothing special in KC.

He’s been an All Pro and Pro Bowler the last two years… seems he was young enough being under 30.

Complementary football is a thing.

Cam was toast, nobody wanted him… 500K guaranteed is how we know that. He was a name at least and had run the offense before, he could be a placeholder for the rookie QB they were sure to draft.

The collaboration missed on Mac, it happens….

Let's not pretend it was a shrewd move. He was a desperation signing, nothing more.

If they really wanted him he would have been signed well before late June. Shouldn't be surprised they were desperate...they had no succession plan after the GOAT took his talents to Tampa.

BB completely botching the development of a young QB was done right by the book of how to ruin your young QB. This isn't the first nor will it be the last time a young QB was ruined by an epic coaching failure. It wasn't as much of a miss as it was wretched coaching.

Still wouldn't call a 28 year old OLman young. The median average age of an NFL OL per team was around 26.

Alot of O lineman playing with Mahomes will look like all pros.. Brady made trent brown look like an all pro and many others..

This is basically the 2nd biggest unanswered question from BB after the whole Butler SB benching.

bull spit
dead cap space is a poor excuse, and dead cap space often creates more cap space.
the two highest cap hits on the team were bot OG's (Thuney and Mason)
the roster was piss poor because of bad drafts. period
