#1 WR? Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo anyone?

At this point unless a realistic trade possibility happens.. I think Mayo's content to see what he has in camp with the young guys and sign a big FA next off season.. I really don't think this season is a lost year.. this season is about Drake and his development and moving the organization forward. But I agree with your overall post.
When I said lost season , i meant the goal is non existent for post season. We are using this as a foundational year or rather extended preseason for 2025.

Yes. I understand. It's sensible as well. Don't get me wrong I'd love for them to trade for a top WR.. to mesh with Drake.

If Aiyuk is truly available, then we should do everything in our power to acquire him. He is that #1 receiver type and he is young. Going through the draft for all our needs was always a dangerous proposition because you leave yourself with pretty much no margin for error.

I've heard that contract talks have stalled with the 49ers. Maybe they become open to trading him for a 2nd or 3rd. We might have to really open up Bob Kraft's wallet though. Might take up to 30m per year to sign him considering the latest WR mega contract signed by Jefferson.

Indeed. I'd like to see how Douglas, Polk, and Baker work out (including Bell), not to mention if we can snag a gem at WR, TE, and RB in the 2025 Draft (in addition to a hopefully stud LT). I'd rather spend the money and draft pick through a trade on a young and proven LT (in addition to having to pay him), because a solid (if not great OL) will go a long way to helping Maye succeed. We've seen over the last several years that drafting solid WR talent in the 2nd round and later has been done, if you have the Personnel Department that can identify them. We're also thin at the RB position and in addition to not getting Jonah Williams for a couple of years for the LT spot (which would be better than what we currently have), I also am disappointed that they didn't draft Braelon Allen out of Wisconsin. He could have been a Day 1 backup for Rhamondre.

Agreed. With the Increasing salary caps going forward as the NFL owners rake in more money the cap Increases. Now we have retained alot of our own guys home grown and Re signed FAs like Henry.

We will need to spend point blank we have 55 plus million in cap space left.. I believe Wolf is holding out for some type of trade.. but until that happens I'm full go on the young guys.. I want polk, Baker, KJ to all grown and mesh with Drake.

Rham and Gibson are the work horses and I'll tell you.. Gibson Will be a revaluation for us. 6'2 can run WR routes, catch out the back field, block make guys miss in space. Now your point LT.. we absolutely do need a stud there to protect drakes blindside.. however I'm willing to see how this position comes together in camp. The line will not have it easy going up against the defensive front.

My only question on him is he a beneficiary are having Deebo, Kittle and mcaffrey? Or does his abilities help those other guys? He's a hell of a player.. he'd be a 1 here for sure.. personally I'd prefer tee Higgins I doubt he signs an extension to stay with cincy..

Looking forward to watching the kiddos and current pieces play and revisiting the future of the WR group as the season winds down

Looking at the highest paid WR's in the league, it doesn't really seem to be a good value to the team.

Justin Jefferson is the best in the game, but his team won't be doing anything. Vikings did this to put asses in the seats.

AJ Brown and Smith - first round exit, but a Super Bowl the year prior.

Amon-Ra St. Brown - NFCCG.

Hill and Waddle - can't get out of the Wild Card Round.

DaVante Adams - no playoffs.

Cupp - didn't play much due to injury. Team lost in the Wild Card.

The value contracts are with the players that signed for under $24M.

How many more wins would a star WR being signed to the Patriots 2, 3 more wins? The team is not constructed for a SB run this year. The GM needs more time. Save the money for a trade for a backup Left tackle this summer. See if this draft class can help this team. Evaluate the offense.

They still have around 50 million in cap space, saving money is ridiculous.

Very interesting....

The short answer: Not Deebo. He has way more wear and tear than you would like because they over used him as a RB.

That's his franchise tender right?
Indeed it is. Them signing him after the tender is another matter entirely. They can always FT him next year, but that might go over like a fart in an elevator with Higgins.

Neither, Aiyuk is not a “#1” and Deebo unless he could be had cheap isn’t going anywhere.

Polk or Baker could develop into Aiyuk, Juju’s best season is better than Aiyuk’s best season. He’s merely “good,” and his performance is a direct result of San Francisco's superior offense.

I'm perfectly comfortable with not having either one. And you're right; Polk and/or Baker could be as good, if not better.

People are overrating Aiyuk entirely….

Best Season Of Career:
Juju - 111 catches, 1426 yards, 7 TD's
Aiyuk - 75 catches, 1342 yards, 7 TD's

He’s not a top tier WR and wants to be paid like one… plus you have to trade for him, no thanks.

Looks like a lot of playoff teams, 3 recent SBs with a couple of rings. Not sure this post makes the case you're trying to make.
