It's easy, and only takes a few moments. Is there somewhere that shows how many snaps Jonathan has played outside compared to nickel in his career? They have question marks for both outside CB spots. Jonathan Jones needs to stick at Nickel. Keep Mapu away from the S room and Marcus Jones from CB.
Marco Wilson has 37 career starts and played well on a terrible defense. We have a big time vacancy at CB 2.

I'm sure there's stats somewhere. Is there somewhere that shows how many snaps Jonathan has played outside compared to nickel in his career?
Barring injury or the emergence of some other player I don't see how.And he'll certainly be in the mix for the spot opposite Gonzo... But he's no sure thing either.
there is a scenario where Gonzo and Jon Jones play outside and Marcus inside as the teams top 3 CB's.Barring injury or the emergence of some other player I don't see how.
I can't get over how everyone is just writing off one of the most electric players we've had because he's a few inches shorter than everyone else. Marcus scored TDs on defense, offense, and STs his rookie year and last year in training camp he was looking like he was going to be one of our top 3 corners.
I mean Pop looks like he'll probably be our best WR and he's like 5'8 170 pounds and he doesn't get ignored.
What am I missing that I seem to be the only one hyped up about Marcus?
I think you all are sleeping on him.
One of my pet-peeves with a position that was available in FA that they could have addressed but didn't, was a true FS. There were two young (young enough to be a part of the next contender) and talented FS's that wouldn't have broken the bank (especially considering that their contacts would have seemed like a bargain in a couple of years, as is usually the case). Perhaps one of the young corners with sufficient size and such can be successfully converted to the next solid FS (and that might very well be the plan), but until that happens, I'm leery of the FS position on the defense.
I'm interested to see what Wilson brings in camp.. I admit don't know much about him other than what you say.Marco Wilson has 37 career starts and played well on a terrible defense.
Agreed. Plus we Know guys don't like training camp.. can bet you guys are watching and waiting for injuries and when camp is nearly over to try to sign. There are still a number of quality free safeties available, I just think they are holding out for more $$$ because most were getting big $$$ last year.
Alex Austin says what about me ?there is a scenario where Gonzo and Jon Jones play outside and Marcus inside as the teams top 3 CB's.
by all reports, both Jones seem to play their best inside.
hopefully Wilson can play significant snaps at a high level.
I do not yet have confidence in any of the other CB's.
He's probably our KRer and PRer too. But yes I think the WR thing was a gimmick that made sense his rookie year due to many factors that likely won't come up again.Marcus Jones is only playing on defense this season, I think he will be on the field a great deal this season.
need to see more from him. imo, he could play a lot or get cut. I certainly do not believe he is a roster lockAlex Austin says what about me ?
People including PFF told us Stephon Gilmore was a bad player because he played on a terrible Buffalo team and defense. The reality is he was an elite CB stuck on a defense with little to no pass rush and unfortunately his position is hard to do without the help upfront. It’s ultimately a team sport and the guys tasked with defending out on an island tend to look bad in bad situations. He’s not Gilmore necessarily but he’s much better than the terrible defense he came from in Arizona.I'm interested to see what Wilson brings in camp.. Got it. We'll I agree. As the rush and coverage fo hand in hand. But I'm all for it. Competition for that 2nd guy on the outside is going to be great for all the young guys. Bolden also figures to be a factor here.. he has that Antonio cromartie type frame and length. Gonzo will likely take away one side of the field so the guy on the other side will see all the action.People including PFF told us Stephon Gilmore was a bad player because he played on a terrible Buffalo team and defense. In reality none of the younger guys are neccessary locks.. they all have something to prove.. Wade, Bolden, Wilson, Austin, dial.. will all have to prove themselves again. I like this group. I feel like it will be great competition and we have nice depth.need to see more from him. imo, he could play a lot or get cut. I certainly do not believe he is a roster lock
Yes. I remember that toss sweep against Buffalo... MJs speed was sorely missed. However he was an all pro STs ace and I'd expect him to return to that. He also is likely our starting slot DB if J. Jones starts opposite Gonzo. He's probably our KRer and PRer too. But yes I think the WR thing was a gimmick that made sense his rookie year due to many factors that likely won't come up again.
Don’t sleep on Isaiah Bolden as returner. He's probably our KRer and PRer too. But yes I think the WR thing was a gimmick that made sense his rookie year due to many factors that likely won't come up again.
