mahomes must be kicking himself..
There will be a different package of games every day of the week. There won't be regional games anymore. They'll all be national games, but you'll need every streaming service to see them all. What network won't have a playoff game in 2026?
All leagues I’m less and less interested in watching. At least each NFL game usually means something.QBs getting paid at NBA, LIV, MLB, or top soccer player levels.
The older I get the more I "keep tabs" and less I watch (unless it's a local team)All leagues I’m less and less interested in watching. At least each NFL game usually means something.
It's the most important position in the most popular sport. And as the NFL makes more on these TV/streaming deals, the money to QBs is going to go up and up.QBs getting paid at NBA, LIV, MLB, or top soccer player levels.
The NFL responds:NFL will be out of business at this rate. In no universe is Goff even worth $30M/year. Jesus.
And the QB salaries will continue to go up.$53M a year for Jared Goff?
Absolutely spot on! Dak is the first QB to make out a few years ago with a 36 million dollar salary.. by the time Drake is in line it will be in the 60 million dollar range..It's the most important position in the most popular sport. And as the NFL makes more on these TV/streaming deals, the money to QBs is going to go up and up.
I think the rising caps also mean it will be a lot easier for teams to keep their homegrown talent, pushing the big salaries down the road, knowing the rising caps will cover them. Good drafting is going to matter more than ever as the elite talent will not be making it to free agency anymore.no sense in judging a players salary compared to other QB's, or even more so, other QB's over the last 20 years.
todays salaries are a percentage of the rising salary cap. as long as the cap goes up, so too will salaries. with streaming, Amazon, Apple and Netflix all wanting to get more of the pie, and gambling, does anyone see the cap decreasing at any point soon?
the smart teams are finding really innovative teachers on offense, and keeping their own that flourish in that offense.
the rule changes favor offense.
that is why the Pats prior management and coaching staffs are no longer here.
the Pats the past 5 years have been lost on offense except for the rookie year with Mac and Josh.
otherwise known as the cap is crapI think the rising caps also mean it will be a lot easier for teams to keep their homegrown talent, pushing the big salaries down the road, knowing the rising caps will cover them. Good drafting is going to matter more than ever as the elite talent will not be making it to free agency anymore.
I can still get them all with gamepass... Right? That's how they've always advertised that service, as having all the games. There will be a different package of games every day of the week. There won't be regional games anymore. They'll all be national games, but you'll need every streaming service to see them all.
Same.Value or not, I just can't read these numbers without it changing my breathing a little. Never lose the WTF about these salaries!
if the cap rises, so will salaries.Same.
I swear these teams refuse to learn. Tie up all that money on one position.
I think so. We'll have to see how it all shakes out. Were you able to get the game that was only on Peacock last year?I can still get them all with gamepass... Right? That's how they've always advertised that service, as having all the games.
THAT'S the key. You can probably add another $10MM in endorsements, etc and in ONE year he can bank generational wealth that he will have difficulty spending. That's ONE YEAR!!!!!Mahomes is like Brady knowing that he cannot ask for every nickel that he can get from the salary cap and still field a good team.
I am not trying to argue, so don't mistake my tone. What % of the cap does this represent? While I applaud the player for maxing out his value, he's never going to have the industry around him that TB12 or the Mannings have, it's an amount that limits the team's ability to surround him with quality players.if the cap rises, so will salaries.
as long as the salaries are not guaranteed, the money is not "tied up"
contracts can be redone, or eliminated
